Torrence Watson (Guard) who originally committed to the Ohio St. Buckeyes a couple of years back when Mike Schrage was still there has decided to leave Missouri and will be playing with the Phoenix. He was rated the 64th best player when he came out and was highly recruited by many Power Five schools. This Elon team has to be picked in the top 3 of the conference this coming season if not #1. With so many schools losing there best players to the transfer portal will really open it up for a strong Elon team.

I find it interesting our staff prioritized adding a guard/wing rather than a big man. Personally seems like we have pretty good depth at guard/wing between Hunter Mac, Burford, Noord, Wooten, Woods, and Michael, but I guess you can never have enough playmakers. Hoping the coaching staff still looks to add a big guy to shore up our lack of depth there.

^forget to mention JBG too. Regardless, exciting to add another athletic player to this team. Hoping Watson can be a big addition to this team!

Great pick up! A lot to be excited about.
Re: lack of size...with Poser leaving we still have one more spot to fill, right? It would be nice to have some depth with Graham being the only big man.
Go Phoenix!

If you look at it, it’s not much different than our roster was at the start of the year.
Harris transfers...Watson transfers in.
Today’s game is so wing and ball handling in space driven. Can’t have enough options.
I would expect our last scholly get used on some rebounding help.
With this year not counting, Watson should have two years in the maroon and gold.

I must’ve missed the Poser news. Good luck to him! Also does that Wooten and Hannah the only remaining matheny recruits?
Agree on need for one more big. Getting another guy to help rebound and rim protect with Graham and Hannah will be huge.

How many times can a player transfer? As many as he wants, but without waivers for the requirement that you sit one year you eventually run out of eligibility. Normally you have five years to use four years of eligibility and each time you transfer it eats up one of those years, unless you get a waiver. The next couple of years will be interesting though since anyone who played in 2020-21 gets a bonus year of eligibility and the NCAA's been pretty generous with the waivers. There are some players out there who are on their fourth school this year with the bonus year. Odd question, though, in this thread since it's Watson's only transfer.
