if an HBCU moves to FBS it ought and should be A&T and I believe it helps our home and home southern footprint. We know at least every year We can listen to a great band and it's good to have another partner in the Triad. NCA&T is finally on better financial footing and not on academic probation. always a good OOC foe, in the long run, it will make us stronger. IMHO.

That’s pretty cool about A&T. I have always enjoyed the series with them in football. Talk about a win/win with travel as well.

Agree with A&T being a good add. They really were the best available option for football outside of the SoCon, but really have more of a fan base than any SoCon school and are literally right down the road. Hopefully it can build into a good rivalry.
I also like that they play baseball. With JMU leaving and Hampton not having baseball I was worried about the footprint shifting north.
Lastly, A&T will add a track and field program to the CAA that is one of the best in the country. Both men's and women's finished in the top 5 at the 2021 national championships. The men were 3rd ahead of Florida, USC and Texas and women were 4th along with Alabama and ahead of LSU and Florida. That's pretty remarkable. Of course that means Elon winning the CAA women's track and field title may not happen again for a while.
Will be interesting to see how the conference rounds things out with new members.
Go Phoenix!

Anyone see the merger of the OVC and BigSouth conferences of what's left of either.

Anyone see the merger of the OVC and BigSouth conferences of what's left of either. That looks to be a major yawner, but I'm interested. Any reference news releases?

what moves the needle around Elon is the doe-ra-moola our student recruiting footprint the last 3 decades has been affluent suburbs of the eastern US from Boston to Florida but in and around the prep schools of the northeast. Some grads stay in NC most go elsewhere. We know that but now I believe Elon is an asset in our conference and a well rounded member in FCS and mid major schools. Until the Big elite schools devise a way to take ALL the money we are where we are.

Rumor that Campbell is joining the CAA in 2023. Outside of Furman or Wofford joining, this is the next best option for Elon in my opinion.
Go Phoenix!

former OOC opponents are now in the southern loop of the CAA A&T & Campbell with Hampton gives us balance especially in football I hope folks appreciate the Sun Belt members that were our former rivals in App, GaSouthern, Coastal, JMU,& Liberty (indy) and Charlotte. and how competitive we were with these programs and start ups. announcing Campbell Camels on HUMP Day was classic

Great from a location standpoint for the olympic sports and travel. Good addition for football as they are on the rise and could create a interstate rival. While the CAA has grabbed at some schools and football teams to keep it all together, this is a good move.
