ELON, N.C. – Dave Blank, Elon University Director of Athletics, announced today that the Phoenix will enter a five-year partnership with Action Sports Media, Inc., a full service marketing company, starting with the 2007-08 academic year.
“As we continue to elevate the competitiveness and excitement of our athletics program, it is critical that our marketing efforts reflect a profile of excellence as well,” Blank said. “We are pleased with our new partnership with Action Sports Media, Inc., a company that has a great national reputation for advancing the marketing efforts of many Division I institutions across the country. Their leadership is extremely impressive and we are fortunate to have them guiding our marketing efforts as we move forward.”
ASM will have exclusive rights to sell all advertisements in athletics venues, printed materials, Web site and other media. ASM will also invest in new video technology to be installed in Rhodes Stadium prior to the 2007-08 academic year.
“We are excited to announce our new partnership with Dave Blank and his staff at Elon,” said Gordon Whitener, CEO of ASM. “We look forward to enhancing the game day experience at Rhodes Stadium and the opportunity to be associated with such a great institution.”
ASM specializes in collegiate sports game day multimedia. Providing services for 11 leading NCAA universities and 19 collegiate venues across the United States, ASM was founded in 1997 to meet the increasing need for sales and marketing expertise in college athletics.
The company also markets a software package, Game Ops Commander, that enables scoreboard operators to manage the audio portion of their game-day production; more than 900 groups have licensed Game Ops Commander. ASM is a privately held company whose principal investor is Parallel Investment Partners, a Dallas-based private equity firm that invests in growing, entrepreneurially led U.S. companies. Parallel has offices in Dallas and Los Angeles.
