Elon Signees Play in State All-Star Games 7/18/2007
ELON, N.C. -- Ten Elon University signees were recently selected to participate in state high school all-star games. The Phoenix football team led the way with six players in the North Carolina East-West All-Star Game while the women's soccer program had one representative on the North Carolina East-West All-Star Game and two players in the Virginia East-West All-Star Game. The final player was in the North Carolina East-West All-Star Game for men's soccer.
The football signees who participated in the game were: offensive lineman, Rodney Austin (Charlotte, N.C.), athlete Lance Camp (Cherryville, N.C.), defensive lineman Colby Holloway (Garner, N.C.), wide receiver Sean Jeffcoat (Fayetteville, N.C.), linebacker Lionel Shoffner (Greensboro, N.C.) and running back Dontay Taylor (Eureka, N.C.).
Defender/midfielder/forward Megan Deutschle (Burlington, N.C.) was the North Carolina representative for the women's soccer program. Midfielder/defender Liz Payne (Virginia Beach, Va.) and midfielder Alanna Winsper (Virginia Beach, Va.) both participated in the Virginia contest.
Men's soccer was represented in the North Carolina game by defender Greg Mader (Durham, N.C.).
The North Carolina East-West games were held this past week in Greensboro, N.C.

not to rain on any parades but the all star game has changed it format from the past, not nearly as many if any at all of the BCS commits play in the game anymore just for safety precaustions. but this was a lot of people playing in the game which is good exposure, if you have TWC the game can be seen on channel 1234, Sean Jeffcoat looks like he is going to be a stud.
