My high school is tearing through the playoffs, but we dont get a chance at conf rival and defending champ Independence. How do we make the 4A playoffs and other conf members make the 4AA. Who decides this and whats the criteria?

thats what I thought but what throws me is that different people in our conf go to different playoffs. i thought each school was placed in a division biased on size and one devision was placed in a conf.

I don't know the actual numbers but they take the top 32 of 64 qualified schools based on enrollment in 4-a and put them in 4-aa bracket. They try to The NCHSAA reclassifies every 4 years they try to match up East vs West regardless of geography. but still get some weird travel matches..
