Traditionally (since moving to D-I ball), we're nothing CLOSE to the teams McNeese has been in the past.
I still think we'll probably manage only a field goal and maybe a late TD, though I hope I am wrong. We have a lot of young guys starting, so they will have 1st game jitters......especially against top 25 BCS team.
The final score should be something like: 56-10 49-3
I'm glad we were able to schedule SF. It's pretty exciting and you seem to be a good group of folks!

Question for the USF guys...how quickly will lot # 8 fill up? (i.e., how early do we need to arrive to ensure getting space in that lot?) Also, do you know for sure what game time is? I've heard 7, 7:30 and still not determined.

There is plenty of parking available at $7.00 per vehicle. At least that is what the Glazers were charging last season. If it were one of our conference games USF-WVU or USF-UL, you'd want to make sure you got to the parking lots very early. The normal game time at Raymond James for a non-televised (ESPN, etc.) game is 7:00 p.m. You will want to check out the athletic site closer to game day for more information. www.gousfbulls.com/HomePage.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=7700

I paid $10 for the North parking lot....which is lot 4. I would bring at least $10 for parking. Beers on the inside are $7.....so bring some extra cash if you plan on buying libations inside the stadium.

We use to pay $7.00 for parking, it might have gone up, but if it did last season, I am suffering from that blonde disease known as CRS (can't remember s _ i t. LOL
In any event, those of you coming to Tampa we want you to enjoy yourself here. For the most part the true fans of USF are courteous towards our adversaries (UCF being the exception) LOL.

GO BULLS I am reading The Sporting News' college preview edition and they are very high on your QB. You may not be aware of Elon's QB depth chart, but it is redshirt freshman, true freshman, walk-on freshman. So some inexperienced QB will be facing quite a test in his first game.

Well, it's not only that we will have a freshman QB..it's also that we have only a handful of senior on the squad...and the majority of kids on the field will be somewhat inexperienced, esp. in terms of facing a highly ranked 1A team. Does not mean they can't play well...but it could translate to a high percentage of rookie mistakes. I don't think it's impossible for us to win, but clearly the odds are not in our favor. Mostly, I want the kids to enjoy the experience...not to get hurt and to be able to walk off that field knowing they gave it their best shot. It's not only our first game of the season, for a lot of them, it's their first collegiate game....and playing in that large stadium before such a large crowd (your fans) will be quite a jump for them.

You mean every player on Elon's team that isn't a transfer as this is our first ever game against a BCS team. Any word on this being broadcast PPV in any way?? I really want to be able to watch this live. Also, we have locked up USF as an opponent for the DC Area Alumni Flag Football team. So hopefully one football team beats USF this year!!

Am thinking that we will learn a lot at the big scrimmage tomorrow night - think Lembo is expected to address the season ticket holders at the pickup picnic. But, it very well could like a situation like NCSU had a few years ago, where they had two "starters" who rotated. Heck, I am fine with the coaches deciding gameday who gets the nod, as long as all are prepared.

In that way a better decision might be made and the second QB will have some experience if needed during the season.

From rotoworld this morning:
USF to go tailback by committee Running back Benjamin Williams is currently listed as the Bulls starter for the opener against Elon. There are currently 4 players battling for playing time at running back and all indications are they will all get carries. Mike Ford was expected to be the starter this year, but he has not secured the job as of yet. Also watch out for transfer Jamar Taylor, if he receives a hardship waiver from the NCAA. must be nice to have that depth at RB .... good planning to build a solid rushing game means a good OL and thus ball control. = recipe for success.
