Elon To Hold Football 101 Clinic 7/4/2007
ELON, N.C. - Elon will hold its first-ever women's Elon Football 101 program on Saturday, August 18th in Rhodes Stadium starting at 8:45 a.m. and concluding at 11:30. Head coach Pete Lembo and his staff will lead participants through a morning of great football fun. Topics to be covered include offense, defense and special teams along with player equipment and rules of the game. Those in attendance at the clinic will be invited back to join the Phoenix on the field before the kick off on Sept. 8. The day will start at 8:45 with check-in and a continental breakfast with the coaches' wives followed by offensive, defensive and special teams' overviews. Participants will then be shown an equipment demonstration and will learn about the team's pre-game routine before finishing the day with autographs, t-shirts and posters at 11:30. The cost of Elon Football 101 is 20 dollars per person (18 years of age and older) and includes breakfast, a Phoenix t-shirt and one ticket to the Sept. 8 game with West Virginia Wesleyan. Space is limited, so register today! For more information, contact Sarah Thomas at 336-278-6063 or Trip Durham at 336-278-6708.

Didn't Wake do this a year or two ago and get like 100 women out to it? It was huge when they did it.

App State will hold its 4th annual Football 101 this year. Over 100 women have attended each year and seems to be growing. I encourage my wife to attend to cut down on the mid-game questions

A kids version of this could be great too. Do it for ages 8-12 or something so the kids are old enough to understand the concepts but still young enough that getting the kids involved is going to get the parents involved also.
