First game not going well so far.....4 fielding errors in the top of the second.

Dang, up 4-2 top 9, then Girdwood is credited with 5 earned runs.....not too sure about the team this year!

Girdwood has let a couple get away late already.

Coach quoted in paper as saying several spots are still "open" including the closer role!!

Man, this is really a tale of two teams.....they destroy WVU 17-1 today and Kernodle pitched a beauty in game 2 versus Wright St.
Playing error free is the key. The bats are too hot and cold....

Not that I don't like Girdy, because I do, but part of the reason his record has been so good over the years is that our batting power has had us way out in the lead in most instances. He really needs to dig deep this year.

I'm not sure what's going on with the errors. We were charged with 2 errors against Wilmington but I promise you there were easily 5. I can accept that every night isn't going to be great at the plate but there is ZERO excuse for errors at this level.

Well the team managed to win 3 of 4 over the weekend in the Elon Invitational. A big midweek matchup coming up against a UNC team that is hot so far this season.

... Unfortunately, we added 3 more errors to the total tonight. But, when you pound out 12 runs on 8 hits the errors don't mean quite as much.

Anyone know who's on the mound Tues and Wed? Every starter so far this year pitched this weekend, so I'm curious who's going to get their first start this week.
Congrats to the team on rebounding from a tough loss on Friday.
Go Phoenix!

That is a good point - not sure who will get the nod, with Whitehead going today.

It will probably be pitching by committee. Air out the bullpen.

Nice to see that hitting looks to be improving. Need some consistent run support for the weekend staff!

Dylan Clark is getting the starting nod for Tuesday. I believe I overheard someone saying that we are mursing several injuries with our pitchers and are pretty thin.

Elon: So. LH Dylan Clark (0-2, 1.00 ERA, 9.0 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 8 K)
Thats not a bad stat line at all - how did he manage to be the losing pitcher in 2 games?!
