I think the Samford pitchers name was Lex Rutledge. The dude can pitch. Sometimes you just have to tip your hat to a quality pitcher, turn the page and move on. Ferrer had a rough day. It wasn't terrble. Rutledge did lose velocity and control when throwing from the stretch but we didn't get on base enough to take advantage. Maybe, in hnd sight we coulda tried to bunt more to get on with less than 2 outs but wow how picky can I be. We just got beat by a good pitcher. Good luck tomorrow.

Statistically, Samford has the best pitching in the SoCon. This was a huge series for the Phoenix.

Samford series win was huge. More consistent relief pitching and offensive production is a must as the conference schedule gets a little tougher...we need a mid week win at EC to salvage some non-conf help for post season.
