Congrats to Ferrer, Girdwood and Brebbia who all got taken today. Ferrer and Girdwood went in the 28th with Brebbia going in the 30th. Brebbia is just a Junior so he could come back still.

Do you think Brebbia will stick around? I think his MLB stock could rise next season following up his POY SoCon performance.

Not unless he can raise his draftability by being a starter. Staying another year and getting intermittant innings as a situational guy won't help his draftability. Starting will.

Congratulations guys!! The consistency of our guys being drafted has to resonate well with recruits. Kennedy continues to impress every year and has done a tremendous job of creating a winning culture at Elon. Another proud moment for this Elon Alum!!

Well Girdwood and Ferrer leaving will open up a couple spots in the rotation... Dylan Clark and Kyle Webb would still be starting, but maybe Brebbia would be able to step up to starting as well? Maybe in midweek games? Usually the new starters come from someone who contributed the year before and then moves to that role as opposed to a freshman.

Look for Jim Stokes to possibly grab a spot in the rotation. He would've been a key mid-week starter before he got hurt before the year started.

Quote from "CodBall". Elon’s John Brebbia ended the regular (ELON) season with a record of 7-0 and a 1.83 ERA. Surprisingly, all of those wins came in relief appearances. The junior righthander appeared in 25 games – all in relief – and worked a total of 39.1 innings.
Cape Stats: summer of 2010 He had a 2.65 ERA regular season in 17 innings Cape Cod and 7.71 ERA in Cape Cod playoffs in 4.2 innings for a Cape Cod season ERA of 3.74. Add to that POY, Team MVP and drafted. Now
I'm not trying to tell anyone what to do or make coaching decisions or start anything controversially here. This is just my opinion. To answer Bhill 483 "step up to starting"?
Talking about drafting. When scouts come to watch him... they won't be sure when he pitches cause the coach won't really know when he's pitching because he's a situational guy. Scouts will have to catch him by luck as a situational guy. He'll peak interest but not early round interest. Situational guys historically don't go early. This won't help him move up in the draft much. So if he were my son, my recommendation would be to talk to coach about how he'd be used before returning for another college season. Situational guy, I'm moving on. Starter I'd stay cause it would help him move up. Credentials to start? Has anyone done more? Welll, you be the judge.
