Liberty is worth watching vs. William and Mary this week. Should give us a good indication of what we'll face next game. So far, they played two Div. II teams, with far from stellar results. They were not overly impressive vs. Shippensburg St. One TD was special teams , the other was defensive TD. I believe only 80 yds. offense in the second half. Their fans are a little uneasy. Pre season hype may be unfounded.

I still think they will be tough. D-II teams have been playing FCS schools very tough so far this year, and have pulled some pretty big upsets over ranked teams(look at this past weekend).
D-II teams aren't a very good measuring stick. It seems a few years ago, FAU lost their season opener to a D-II but went on to the Semis in the I-AA playoffs. The same happened with Montana St 4 years ago. They had 5 losses, but ended up winning the Big Sky (tough conference). I think TWO of those losses were to D-II teams.
Every time a school plays up, the lower division team is going to give all they have plus 200% more. USF fans were pretty uneasy after the game with us, then went on to beat Auburn the next week.
Heck, look at Wofford. They played a tough NAIA school their first game, and won 34-21.....now most are predicting they'll beat NC State this weekend.
Anyway, what I'm getting at is DON'T OVERLOOK Liberty. There is a reason most folks thought they were going to be tough, and maybe it's jsut taking a couple games to click.

Isn't the talk about D-II teams "shouldn't beat us" the same talk as I-A schools saying we shouldn't beat them? I just want to point out the irony here. I really just want to make the point b/c it's funny. I totally agree that teams in our league should be beating D-II schools by a good margin but man how funny it is right now to make the predictions and then have to put a huge boot in the mouth like Herbstreit had to do!! Sorry I just had to say it but the best part about all of it is....it's football and it's college football which makes it great!

You are correct, FCS teams should NOT lose to D-II teams.
Don't get me wrong though, there is a lot of talent that circulates through D-II. Heck, John Taylor is now playing at Brevard. Maybe not a good student, but he was a hell of a player!

D-II or not, the WVAW players were pretty big...height and weight. I had expected them to be much smaller. Back to Liberty - I see them as the Coastal of last year - got off to slower start than expected but will come back strong...and they will be confident they can beat us. If we have 4 15-yr. faceguard penalties again, they very well might.
