We have been doing a lot of belly aching about this years product on the football field. I'm sure I'm going to get blasted for some of this post. All I can say is blast away, this board is all opinion and I'd like to read every one. Anyway, my main disappointment, right now, is with Swepson's big mouth. Not with the team on the whole. Swepson has said many times that there is no quit in this team. That was obvious in the Wofford game. These guys gave it their all and came up short. Regardless of what plays should have or have not been called, the players gave blood sweat and tears in an attempt to come up with a win. I'm not a coach & didn't play college ball so as far as complaining about the technical part of the game, well I'm probably not qualified. I do know that we were in the game with a chance to win against the 12th ranked team in the country, literally, until the last whistle blew. So the team, coaches included are doing something right. A moral victory is still a loss, but I am very proud of this team's effort, and I expect good things both for the remainder of the season and seasons to come, in spite of some of the classless statements.

I agree and disagree. The Coach did something right in the first half as he has in most games. But he makes no adjustments. When the other team see what we are doing and make adjustments it shuts down our team and gets the other back into the game. Ive said it before we have a talented team, but this cruse control coach is not the right one to drive the bus.

I'm with you fightinchristian. I have yet to complain about a player this year. My beef is with Swepson, his arrogance, his big embarrassing mouth and his attitude. I'll reiterate what I said before, the OC is proving to make adjustments (ie, look at the App game), the DC and Swepson appear not to. And Swepson's marching orders just suck.

EFF...I agree - you have nailed the problem. It appears that the coaches are going into half time, thinking we are ahead, so let's keep doing what we are doing - but they should have sufficient experience to anticipate the adjustments the other team will make, and coach the kids accordingly. I agree with the posts regarding negative comments should be kept in the locker room - blaming the team, esp. in public, is not acceptable. Wonder how Swepson would feel if Blank criticized him after each loss to the press? Public chewing out/blame is never acceptable - in sports, work, etc.

Difference is, if Blank did that, Swepson is a paid professional and should be able to deal with it. The players, though on scholarship, are just students.

Agree with ll that's been written so far: each game it seems the 1st half we own or are on par. 2nd half, the staff makes no adjustments (Furman comes to mind).
Coaches are paid to take the criticism (some didn't like it, but I always thought Gundy's rant supporting his QB was spot on).
I've lost my faith that Swepson can take Elon back to where it was under Lembo.
