A&T went down tonight 30-31 vs Coastal just saw they gave up 99 TD return after going ahead and missing out on a 2 point conversion .... lot's of turnovers and penalties
who's coming??? Elon Alum has a great deal on tickets and tailgating do not let A&T have a away field advantage

Not having a home-field advantage is really a possibility?

When A&T is good everyone jumps on the bandwagon. When they're bad they don't have a fan in the world. So yes, they could bring an App St. sized crowd.

Should be an interesting game. We were able to move the ball fairly well against them last year, but couldn't punch it in the endzone. A&T seemed to move the ball at will. I think they racked up about 500 offensive yards in the 28-10 win. The Aggies are going to be pretty hungry after the heartbreaking loss to CCU. They are well coached and they'll be ready. Ladies and Gents, we do have better coaching this year and it was obvious this was a different team that stepped on the field against Duke. With 2 weeks to prepare, and it being the home opener, I'm expecting to see a close game. Bornthrilla, are you out there?

I have no idea what to expect from this game, but my confidence in the coaching staff is sky high compared to last year. I missed the game at A&T last year because I was out of the country for work, but I followed online.
I recall A&T moving the ball really well between the 20s, but stalling out several times. They are very athletic, but coming off the Duke game Elon isn't going to see anything overwhelming.
I keep thinking of the Coastal game in Lembo's first year and hope we see a repeat of that on Saturday. Hope the rain stays away and looking forward to seeing the Aggie band.
Go Phoenix!

Hi Phoenix fans and a hardy welcome from all the Aggies over here at bluedeathvalley.com. Thrilla is on his way. We are looking forward to Saturday afternoon and making the 20 minute trip down 1-85/40. After a few days of stewing over the loss to CCU in a game everyone felt we should have won, Coach Broadway and his staff have been very intense in practice this week with a huge focus on finishing.
We're a young football team with only eight seniors,16 juniors, 35 sophs, and 40 freshmen. Plus this is the first time in three years without the NCAA probation hanging over our heads so we are a totally different team from what we were last year when we played you guys.
CCU had a distinct size advantage on us especially with their huge offensive line but our team superior speed evened that out for the most part. We're operating with a different scheme from years past to better utilize that speed and have scored a lot of points in our first two games. Defensively, we play with an edge with a surprising sense of urgency for unit with only senior starting.
We plan to roll into Rhoades Stadium in big numbers along with the B&G Marching Machine so it should make for an exciting atmosphere to watch a good college football game.

If our last game and your first game are any implications. It appears this will be a major ground battle.

If it does shake out that way, I would think that we would have a distinct advantage with the read option. Both QB Kawshaun Quick and RB Tarik Cohen are incredibly fast (4.3) and can burn the best run defenses in a blink of an eye. True freshman Marquell Cartwright is no slouch either. If any one of these guys gets into the secondary, watch out.

Coach Skrosky's remarks today at the Coffee indicated "The Phoenix Walk" would be at 3:30 wondering if A& T has a designated tailgate area? with all the construction finished I am thinking of parking so I can walk the campus and take it all in Are they still running the Bio-Buses and where do they originate?

I will be there and I am looking forward to a good game. Love the turnout when A&T comes to town... also enjoy watching their band. Hoping for a good game that results in a Phoenix victory.. Where is the best place to tailgate these days... with all the construction going on.. I have no idea where the best place to be is.

The one thing that concerns me about this game is facing a duel threat QB. Historically, it seems that duel threat QBs have always given Elon fits. Armanti Edwards, Jamal Jackson and Kevin Ellison are three in recent memory that gave Elon fits. No matter how good an Elon team was, they just couldn't key in on those guys. Edwards was a freak of nature and probably one of the best pure athletes ever in the SoCon. Not many were able to stop him, so that may not be the best example.

Apparently the Alumni Association is doing a "tailgate" on Stadium Drive...so that may be where most of the people will be...although with the predicted rain, I'm not sure if people will go that early or not. Probably will be tailgating in all three "pass" parking lots. I'm not sure where they will be the A & T people...I know there were some visitor tailgates set up on softball lot last year - but I don't know if Elon gave the visitors a certain number of spaces or if they just happened to know people who got them a pass. Think most of the construction should be done at Harper (?)...so younger alums/fans may be tailgating there since it's closer to the Greek houses. We are looking forward to the game, but not so much the high percentage of rain during the game.

When A&T is good everyone jumps on the bandwagon. When they're bad they don't have a fan in the world. So yes, they could bring an App St. sized crowd. I take issue with this statement. I don't think there has ever been a time whether we were good or bad that we did not fill your stands up with more people than you had on the home side. On the other side of that, Elon fans never bring more than a 100 people to our stadium and its right down the road. Its a pretty lopsided agreement on our side. It benefits the heck out of Elon financially to have this game, we will fill your stadium, we will bring our band, and we will create a good college atmosphere for your program. When the game is at A&T its like playing a team from California. Its no real benefit to play Elon for A&T. If you guys are talking about your competitiveness in your new league you would want to increase your fan base so its actually beneficial to have you travel to their school. And bring your band to our school. How much could it cost to come 20 mins? Return the favor or else I say we end the series and play teams with a real college fan base that is financially beneficial to both schools.
