I think part of the problem is that some fans/alumni/boosters think Skrosky is the man to turn it around. Why not, He was the OC at Elon during the turn around and Ball State as well. He knows how to get it done.. Right? Here's the problem. His offense is geared toward a ball controlled passing game that works well when you have an accurate QB who makes quick reads and has enough physical ability to take off and run when necessary. Think of the two QBS he had. Riddle... Probably the best Elon has had and at least got a free agent contract with the NFL Jaguars and Keith Wenning who was drafted. With out those guys Elon and Ball State are much worse. By the Way. Ball State is Back to 3-7 right now. Is that because Skrosky left? NO it's because Wenning is gone. The truth is his offensive scheme sucks. OL works out of two pt stance which is clearly a disadvantage to run blocking. Very few power run plays/pin and pull. No counter action. Mostly it's just zone read crap that doesn't work because Quinn will never keep it. Play action is a joke because we can't run the ball. Think of the time it looked it's best. It was against William and Mary because we ran the ball better. The chuck and dunk offense is good for teams that are out manned at most positions but it can't be at quarterback. Without a top level quarterback, Skrosky will not get it done. Guilty. I also think Skrosky will find and sign a great QB in the next two years. Very short wideouts make smaller targets that really have no great explosive capability our best big play threat got hurt Pearsall and our OL is obviously a year away We are needing a true "Spark" is needed

A TE our big play threat? Huh?
Our WR are not small. They just can't catch.
I'll have my take after the final game. Lots to talk about.

Yeah that D look real good against JMU huh. If u want to b a good program u have to compare urself to the better programs. This will never change with this coaching staff ( THEY CAN'T COACH PLAYERS UP AND DONT KNOW HOW TO UTILIZE TALENT)

Forever was completely right in what he said in 2014. Absolutely right about the QB situation.

Well, I think you can count on seeing CC under center in 2017 (assuming he's healthy). I don't think you want an incoming freshman at the controls and I've heard nothing about a transfer.
I do believe the O line will be special. That SHOULD create a viable running game and offer the QB excellent protection. The receivers will have to get open and hold onto the ball (which has been an issue), the QB will have to be sharp and decisive (and provide some spark with his legs), the system will have to change away from the wideout screen pass.
I'm actually optimistic about the offense in 2017. Then again, I'm writing this from the psych ward...

We have a scheme problem to go along with our lack of production under center. Since there has been zero changes made that I know of, I'm not optimistic.
We regressed last year. I'm not holding my breath.

I'm not holding my breath. Unfortunately, I feel the same. I'm very hopeful, but unless the scheme changes somewhat, receivers get open better and catch better and CC's surgery makes him better than he was in the 2015 season, I really don't expect much more than marginal improvement. I absolutely do not see us finishing better than 11th in the conference. All the CAA teams were on an upswing other than Stony Brook, William & Mary and us. I certainly do not expect W&M to stay down another year. Stony Brook may drop another year, Rhode Island played us like a team on the rise. I just don't see a lot of positives on the offense, other than the O Line. The thing that bothers me the most doesn't involve the CAA. Next year we play Furman. When we scheduled that game I was very excited. I felt that with Skrosky coming aboard, we'd be very strong by that game. Now I'm afraid that we'll be the CAA AND the SoCon's biotch.

Add to that the Gardner-Webb loss this year, two double digit hoops losses to UNCA and Radford, I think we can add Big South to the list of conferences making us their "biotch". To quote the state motto... Esse quam videriGo Phoenix!
