So what do we expect out of this game? We lost this game by a slim margin last year.
Gardner Webb has a good experienced front 4, with 1 all american as the anchor. Their defense was easily able to disrupt the offensive rhythm for most of the game, until CC took the lead pulling out a thrilling win.
The defense continued to look pretty good overall, and special teams continued to look sharp.
A&T is probably miles ahead of of GWU, but they're hard to judge at the moment with a big win over a D-II and a big loss to UNC.
What do we expect this weekend?
CC looked to gain some confidence and working the TEs more at the end of the game looked very effective.
Personally, I would like to think we're going to win the game, but it doesn't look like we're there yet with the offense. If I had to venture a guess, I would say this will be a loss by 2 TDs, but I hope the team proves me wrong! A&T has one of the best RBs we'll see this season.

We could win a low scoring game I think. Hopefully the coaches and O learned from both poor play / no results and better play with some scoring and will take that to the field this weekend.
My take is a closer loss 24-17.

While A&T is no Wake Forest, They do have the similarity of a strong RB along with a QB who isn't afraid to tuck the ball & run. Our D line and LB's will need to be at the top of their game. If our O could replicate our one scoring drive during regulation from last weekend a few times, we could make a game of it. One TD during regulation won't get it done against A&T I'm afraid. Run Connor Run...

Looks like they're WR core is banged up, so they may be forced to be more 1 dimensional.

Enjoy this game. It's off the schedule for next year. NC A&T is opting out for a bigger paycheck. Elon gets a D2 school instead. I'm guessing it's a little late to schedule a D1 school.

Broadway has been complaining about the 4 game deal since it was announced. Stinks that we will be playing a D2. I'd rather play a PFL team. But at this late date it'll be tough to get anything else. Probably not wise to have more of a contract than a home & home outside the conference. I look forward to playing some of our old foes from the SoCon.

Looks like Fayetteville State is the replacement with Gardner Webb and Charlotte on the sked for next year and Toledo, Furman and Charleston Southern for 2017 (according to Adam Smith).

I'm so unfamiliar with the CAA teams I look forward to seeing what the OOC schedule is like more than I do the conference schedule.

On today's radio show, Skrosky emphasized how tough the A&T defense is. They play a lot of man cover, which isn't encouraging because our receivers have had difficulty getting separation. It's going to be critical for the O line to give CC adequate time to stay in the pocket and wait for his receivers to get open. Or he needs to do a bunch of roll outs and throw on the run, which it looked last week like he could do pretty well.
Elon has simplified its running game, so maybe that will help things. Skrosky said on the running plays different people would be making different mistakes and that was a killer. By simplifying, he's hoping to minimize or eliminate mistakes and thus establish at least a tolerable running game. That would greatly help the passing game.

Surprisingly quiet again this week heading into a big game and family weekend. This game could go a long way to defining the rest of the season. Another win lifts this young team's confidence going in to the CAA home opener (Towson). It would also be the fist time in a few years the team would above .500 after the first 3 games.

Regarding the actual game tomorrow...a win would be huge. We played A&T close last year, and i'd say between the two teams we should have improved more, but I also don't know anything about their team/growth. I hope CC has a strong performance and our defense can limit A&T from too many big run plays. I think we win this one in a close game:
Elon 17 A&T 14
