I think it is a big deal when a kid who has been here 4 years and enjoyed agood amount of PT quits Not going to be the last. Hopefully skrosky can bring on another 35 freshman in this recruting class. Keep using the young excuse. A kid that was going to be done in 4 games anyway.

As for all this Tracey Coppedge bashing.Go check his stats from the last three years backside clowns. They will do all the talking.Furthermore you only see this kid on Saturday. You have no idea what this kid has been through to get where he is,the hard work and effort he's put in not only on the football field but in the classroom and community as well, and to have all that snatched away his senior year of college football because his coach has no eye for talent(record speaks for itself) he gets no respect.Get a clue.Better yet go to school, make good grades be an excellent team player and by all means put on a uniform and get your backside out there on that field and make Elon win some since you're all so knowledgeable on the subject

Notice how many 5th year guys will NOT be on the roster next year. Tracey Coppedge has always been there when the coaches needed him...always stepped up. I hate it for him and his family. He didn't deserve this.

Got some playing time. Was hurt a little. And now he quit.

If what I am hearing on how Coppedge was treated this week is true, shame on the staff. Any young man who has put in the time and sweat for four years to walk away with four games left would only do so if something happened. These guys dont walk out on their teammates at this point. These kids are full time college students who also have a full time job and miss many things the normal student enjoy (too many to list....). Yes they are playing a game they love and being compensated with scholarships (not all are full - by the way) but they give the team their all. Tracey has not been an issue and a contributor every year since he walked on campus. He may not be the bruiser some would like, but he played well when asked the past three years...with a veteran line.
In any case, from what seems to be the talk of the town was that staff asked the team to keep the locker room tidy and when Coppedge showed up for practice, he was told he was now on scout team (!) AND staff had left a picture in his empty locker of his clothes not hung up with instructions to find his locker contents in the stadium bathroom! When he got there, his locker contents were in garbage bags with his nameplate on top of them. Are you kidding me??!!! This is what our staff is doing to a fourth year player who has seemingly given his all to the team and his teammates during our bye week???...when they should be studying film on our next opponent and putting extra time into finding a way to get a game plan set to be competitive with Stony Brook. If this is accurate, my disappointment in this season and more importantly the staff, just reached a level I didn't know possible. Tracey deserved better after all the time he put in if this is true...

I am sick of seeing old (and good) players like Richardson, Ingle, Alt, Acha, and others being benched this year while young players are continuously proving that they are not ready to play. Andre Davis and Ricky Brown are doing very well at Campbell (a team that is 4-3). McGuire who was seemingly pushed out, transferred to South Dakota. Well I guess a team that just beat the 4 time national champions last week thought he was good enough (see article below). The truth is Skrosky cant see real talent and likes to push out the good players to bring in young. Skrosky is not able to keep the good players around because he decides that the ones who have worked their butts off for this team for years should get benched. His is pushing his own agenda rather than playing the best players and the ones that can win games. www.argusleader.com/story/sports/college/university-of-south-dakota/2015/10/17/unbelievable-coyotes-stun-no-3-ndsu/74050358/I understand your frustration but did you watch last season at all? All those offensive linemen were less than stellar. There is a reason freshman are playing over these people. We all no last staff was not very good at recruiting or really tried for that fact. The players were awful. Ask a lot of those kids where else they were offered. It wasn't pretty. Those two two are doing well at Campbell. A Pioneer league team that plays a lot of non scholarship schools. There talent should be better. It's like Vad Lee should be good against us. McGuire was fully pushed out. He really wanted a specific masters that Elon didn't offer so it was actually better for his future to leave. some of the reasons coaches get rid of players may not always be solely based on what they do or did on the field. If they aren't going to fit the scheme why keep them? If they are a negative person in the locker room or meetings why keep them? If they don't work hard. Why keep them? Mcguire was pushed out not because of pursuing his masters but because he was told they would rather play a freshman and build for the future. As far as Brown and Davis yes they are playing well at a Pioneer League school however they also produced on the field while at Elon, never heard of any on or off the field issues with any of these guys.

No parent would send their child off to school knowing they would be treated this way. The staff wouldn't like it very much if Dave Blank emptied their office out into the stadium bathroom!

I'm not agreeing with the staff on all things they have done but what if the players were told to clean up the locker room and if they didn't then this would happen to them? Sounds kind of crazy to quit over this. A little discipline never hurt anyone did it?

Phoenix Forever you have no idea of the events that led up to this. You don't know the half.Tracey is one of the most disciplined players to come through Elon. It's about respect which he along with other veteran players have not gotten at all this season.Instead of nit picking and worrying about things like a locker not being clean you would think they would be focusing on winning a game or two.You have no idea the talent that young man has and truly no idea of the type of person he is and the heart he has. He's gonna be okay though.Elon football on the other hand will not be.

I have told you all of the problems with this coach for over a year This staff has been abusing players since they arrived and there was a reason Wrobo got fired from his previous job.... For those of you that support Rich. You are getting what you deserve. Enjoy losing. For the players who never signed up to play for this jerk. Ian sorry that ncaa rules do not allow you to transfer without having to sit out or go down a division That also is unfair when a new coach comes in

Wrobo was fired at rutgers beacuse his OL sucked not for abusing players. After the HC Kyle Flood called him the best OL coach in the country.
Regarding Coppage, you dont leave with 4 games left unless its something serious. This move will cost him $26K to $50K depending on his graduation date.
