Looking back at some old stuff. Elon could have hired Matt Houston from L-R. Now, he's built The Citadel and taking JMU to the semifinal.
Sadly, after Blank's colossal mistake with Swepson he had to go with Skrosky or Bateman. Now look where we are.
A tip of the cap to Fc97 for this post in 2013.

Here's my list:
Jay Bateman - Ball State - A solid defensive coordinator, he's been trained inside a well oil machine that is Lembo's system. If we go after a coordinator, this is the type we should be after.
Mike Houston - Lenoir-Rhyne - Has turned a very similar type of school in the bottom of D-II into a national top 15 team. This guy seems to be an up and comer!
Jamey Chaldwell - Charleston Southern - Young, dynamic, coach that has turned a doormat Charleston Southern team into a well respected program this year. They have won some good games and seems their lack of scholarships caught up to them in the end.
Jim Collins - Duke - Always seems to be on these lists. Not sure why, I would think someone with his tenure would be higher in programs than he is.
Brian Scott - Old Dominion - Offensive Coordinator on a team that was built from scratch into success
Kerwim Bell - Jacksonville - Does well for 0 scholarships, the worst stadium in the NCAA
