I'm intrigued with Ruggiero.

Jim Grobe had the Baylor job and wanted to retire. Probably not going to happen but love the thought.
Jim Collins is solid. Never been a head coach nor a coordinator. . Massive leap.
Need a head coach this go round.!!!

Need a head coach this go round.!!! Don't think Elon can attract one at this point. At least not one with the name or dazzling history that people around here might want.

Collins is past his prime. We need a you guy like Lembo was. We are stepping stone. Hate to say it. Get a young guy who is hungry.

D3 Head Coach from Guilford College down the street took their program over when they were 0-10 and turned them around in two years. Always wondered what a non scholarship program head coach who can succeed would do when handed scholarships. Guilford College had no winning tradition and he found a way to win and they are a good academic school. Just thinking outside the box.

Chatt choosing a D3 guy might work. They're a known entity and have been to the playoffs multiple times in the past few years. We've had multiple screw ups over the past couple of decades, with only one coach that's lasted more than 3 years in our D1 era. We need another Lembo type guy to get the program going again. I cannot express what a monumental f up hiring Swepson was. That we would even consider a guy like that just as we had a major jump start to our program is inconceivable. How did the athletic department not know this was the opposite direction the program should go? We need another Lembo type to get us on the right track again. We need to understand that we are a stepping stone place and embrace it. If we had hired another strong up and comer when we hired Swepson, we would have a VERY solid program now. I don't know who that is. Maybe Chadwell.

I do know this, if it looks like they're looking to make a budget hire again we may as well pack it up & become soccer fans. Either that or become UNC, Duke or wake fans. At least Wake is making an effort. Just frustrated.

Elon can attract a head coach with prior HC experience. If we hire another position coach or coordinator again the dumpster fire will continue to burn. This is the easy and cheap fix.
Need experience not an amateur like the last 2. Someone who knows how to run a football program and knows how to win by adapting to their talent.

We need an experienced head coach. No more assistants.
I still say Bell and Chaldwell

Kerwin Bell? After he got let go at Jacksonville, just finished his first year at Valdosta State. I'm not sure he'd leave. Although, he should hoey a call.

I could see one of our assistant coach being moved to interim HC to preserve this recruiting class, while we take a year to search for the best long term HC option.

I think this is the best way to go. Why rush a hire and put us in the same position for another three years if the right Coach isn't available?

I guess that would be better than running out and hiring another bad fit. Surely Blank had a short list of go to potential coaches given the way the last 3 years have gone, right?
