Welp, that was fun.
Let’s look at some of the highlights:
* Out-rebounded 47-28. * Gave up 18 second-chance points. * Two of our starters went 0-10 from the field. * Allowed ONE player for BU to score their final 12 points over the final 2:41. * Went the final 3:45 without a field goal. * Had a technical foul with 1:26 left that led to a four-point swing that basically ended the game. * Shot 8-26 inside the arc.
I’ll stop there.
Grade: F
But!!! According to MM, “We got better, we just didn’t get the reward.”
If what we saw Sat is getting better, I’m scared to think what the alternative is.

Here's the full quote:
“We got better, we just didn’t get the reward,” Elon coach Matt Matheny said. “We played better than we’ve been playing, and it’s tough to stomach that we didn’t finish it off.”
I need some of whatever he's taking.

Unfortunately, he could have recorded that statement and played it for quite a number of games over the last several years.
Finishing.... I'm , as I'm sure Matheny is, wondering what is the disconnect. Talent level, hustle, conditioning, weak bench, player development, coaching, psychological block.

If you look back over the past couple of years, we have had numerous occasions where we had significant scoring droughts at the end of games that really cost us.
We have never been a good half-court team and never have been able to solve a zone defense.
