Figured it would be easier to have a season thread.
Men are 2-0 after beating High Point today 76-75. They managed to squeak out the win despite not playing well. They did finish strong, but really struggled early on. McIntosh and Butler continue to impress. A few other players seem to be shaking off the rust.
Really need to improve from beyond the arc. McIntosh has 10 of the 13 made 3s for the team. The rest of the team is 3 for 28 over the first two games.
Freshmen aren't getting many minutes, but I like what I see. A lot of potential there.
Should mention the ladies steamrolled Gardner-Webb 88-60 last Wednesday. They look like they could be back to form and contending for the top of the CAA.
Go Phoenix!

What are your impressions of Graham? His stats seem good in limited minutes.

Pretty nice win against a pretty athletic team.
Looking ahead to Thursday, Mercer will be tough. They beat Georgia Tech by 10.

What are your impressions of Graham? His stats seem good in limited minutes. I liked what I saw, but he needs to get a lot stronger. I don't expect we'll see a ton of minutes from him this year - barring injuries - but see potential for tremendous growth once he's got a full year of work on strength training under his belt.

After going to church and praying on the Jerald Butler injury this morning, I am left with a lot of question marks. The number one being could this have been prevented? With Ervin, JaDun, and Harris all hurt on top of the recent Butler injury, what kind of operation are we running? Lack of practice or lack of conditioning maybe? Recovery issue?
Yesterday also proved to me that Coach Miller is the best recruiter in the state of NC and we have to right turn that around quickly to reach the tourney. No reason Langley should be in the Spartans uniform vs a Phoenix Uni. I may have to hop on after Christmas and rank all the D1 Head Coaches in the state of NC. Until then, happy holidays all!

Couple things on the comments above.
Tough loss. We had that game. Our youth showed with a few rough trips on the offensive end.
Questioning this staff on the recruiting end of things is laughable. We are building on some weakness from the last staff. The future is bright and I salute our kids for playing their tails off. Lots to look forward to.

JB's achilles rupture was a freak accident. He slipped awkwardly on a sweat spot.
Schrage's 2020 recruiting class, his second, was ranked #1 in the CAA, #4 among D1 schools in NC behind Duke, NC State and UNC, and #71 in the nation among all D1 schools.
