Highway robbery. The lone 3rd place team in the conference got very little respect. Hope the Athletics Department at Elon loudly voices its concerns for such terrible representation.

I actually think they got it about right, although I would have at least had Davis Cheek and Cole Johnson as co-first team QBs. I think Cheek is the better player; just because I'm prejudiced toward the Phoenix doesn't mean I'm wrong in this assessment. Also, unfortunately, Skyler Davis was overshadowed by Ethan Ratke. Skyler's 50- and 52-yard (the second longest field goal of the season in CAA) kicks in one game should have garnered him the special teams award that week, but Ratke kicked six FGs the same day. If we ever become consistently competitive against the remaining top tier of CAA teams (Villanova, William & Mary, Delaware, New Hampshire, Maine--I'd say we're already on a par with Richmond), we'll get more spots on the all-conference rosters. Also, overall consistency continues to elude us.
I'm hopeful that our winning season helps with recruiting this year.
Go, Phoenix!

I’m hoping it puts more butts in seats next season!

Let's face it...All Conference selections bears a close connection to the Sports Information /Medis departments at each institution and how much and how often the players get publicized. Elon has a highly regarded School of Communications yet we obviously don't do our student athletes justice. Following is a few related facts: Delaware with finished ninth in the league, only won 3 conference games (Maine, Albany & William and Mary) was 5-6 overall but placed 13 players on the All Conference list compared to Elon with 4. Richmond who Elon soundly defeated and finished 4-4 in the conference had 5 first team honorees compared to Elon's 2. There is much more info to ponder if you study the lists so I won't bore you with the minutia here. You study it for yourself and draw your own conclusions. I think we had some deserving defensive players who were not recognized: Devonte Chandler, LB, Torrence Williams, DL and Jamir Malone, LB. Congratulations to the four who made All- Conference and also to the others who deserve the accolades as well and congratulations to the coaching staff on a very good season.

I think our LBs are super good but we have so many of them that share the load that no single one stands out. We have 5 LBs worth of All-Conference honors in Davonte Chandler, Trey Alsbrooks, Jamir Malone, Bryce Graves, and Nick Veloz, but I'm not sure I could definitively say any one of them stands out as the best, they're all so good. Maybe that's why none of them got recognized . I also agree that Cheek is the better player between him and Cole Johnson, but Johnson's stats just can't be ignored, even though he did play for the stat powerhouse of the conference. Skyler Davis would definitely be 1st team All-Conference if Ethan Ratke wasn't also in the CAA.

Really a bummer to see Cheek’s time at Elon come to an end. Glad Cheek, Jaylan Thomas, and all the seniors were able to go out and end their careers on a high note, soundly beating a ranked team…and finishing 3rd in the conference.
Also saw Elon’s attendance was 4th in the conference (from AGS):
Final home total and game average 1. JMU. 128,616. 21,376 2. Delaware. 65,636. 13,125 3. UNH. 58,678. 11,735 4. Elon. 41,270. 8,254 5. W&M. 37506. 7,521 6. Villanova. 37,084. 7,413 7. Richmond. 41,638. 6,939 8. Stony Brook. 33,883. 6,777 9. Towson. 27,085. 5,561 10. Maine. 25,256. 5,051 11. URI. 24,459. 4,892 12. UAlbany. 23,399. 4,698

That's crazy in my opinion.
