Ok boys I know foot balls in full swing but were getting down to the wire for bball season and that means 1 thing BASEBALLS AROUND THE CORNER jk. in one month we tip off against VT we seem to start off on a pretty hard slate. but our fresh team is now a soph team which means were gaining experience. I think this will be the year nester turns it around

I wish I was as optimistic about the mens basketball team as you. I just don't see this year as a turning point for the team, rather more of a continuation from last year. We lost a lot of scoring last year and are very inexperienced. I wouldn't be surprised another 6 or 7 win season. I hate being a naysayer, because I enjoy hoops season and want them to do well, but I'm just being honest. Here's to hoping the guys make me look like an idiot, but I'm not counting on any kind of breakout year. On the other hand, the women have all the ingredients to make some noise assuming they stay healthy. I am hoping to get up to VT for the season opener. I'll go to games win or lose.
Does anyone have any updates on the troubles for Sanders and Carter this summer? Can we count on them to be a key part of the team?
Go Phoenix!

There was a BTN article that said Waters had a broken hand and James had a broken toe. As I remember, both will be available for the season. Problem is that they won't available for practice. Apparrently James has taken the opportunity to strengthen his upper body. The article said that Carter's woe's had been resolved. As I recall, there was no mention of Sanders.

I read the same article and have the same recollections. As I was reading the article, I got the feeling maybe this won't be our year - we'll just have to wait and see though. Here is hoping for the best and that I get to go to a lot of the games.

I expect the team to be somewhat better than last year. But I do not see much evidence that this team is building to be very strong - like we think is occurring in football and soccer.

I reserve my judgment until I see what they do with the early OOC sked. I really want to see if the 7 footer can contribute right away.....
Does anyone plany on coming to Richmond and see the team take on VCU.....or travel to Charlotteville for the UVA game?

Having Montell back is a BIG help. He was a big part of the reason we did poorly last year as well all know Waters is lose with the ball which created a lot of turnovers which is something you can't have from your point guard. Tel knows the schemes, he was basically an additional coach last season. Our team is yet again young but I think more experienced. I also want to see how the 7 footer can do.
I will be at either in Richmond and/or UVA. Will post which one as the date gets closer
