Why are we having several players with one or more years of eligibility left leaving the program? ie. Cam Orr, Jaylan Thomas, Nick Cimele and probably others.

As to Cam Orr, I don't have any information. Thomas is transferring to Samford. Why? My speculation: playing time. He may have tired of Trisciani's platoon system for running backs. As both a rushing and receiving threat, Jaylan may have felt he could have contributed more if he had played more snaps. I do feel that the starters---both offense and defense--should play more snaps. Of course, as I indicated, this is strictly speculation. There may be academic or other personal reasons behind his decision. Also, I have no information on Nick Cerimele or others, except that they've entered the transfer portal.
Transfers generally are far more common than in the past. The entire collegiate system has changed dramatically, and the pace of change is increasing. Elon's football culture, or lack thereof, makes recruiting and retention a challenge, I'm sure.
Go, Phoenix!

I was told that Nick Ceremele was seeking a graduate degree that wasn't offered at Elon. I'm not sure what that degree is, but that's what I heard.

A bright student can graduate from Elon with summer schools in 3 years but we have new talent to develop and scholarships are earned and several grad students in the program. A lot of transfers left because of playing time it just is what it is. Bringing in transfers is also a method to fill in temporary needs. I know some of our latest incoming transfers just did not pan out.
