This was the worst loss of the 2021 season. Had we won this one, we had the opportunity to go deep in the playoffs. Except for this game, (and to a much lesser degree W&M), we won the ones we were supposed to win. Hopefully we made all of our rust mistakes against Vandy and will come out firing on all cylinders this week! Game Notes: elonphoenix.com/documents/2022/9/6/FULL_Game_Notes_vs_Wofford.pdf

Wofford is always tough. Their loss to Chattanooga doesn't mean the Terriers are pushovers this year. They play with pride and tenacity. Don't count them out until the final whistle blows. Phoenix offense must play at least as well as they did against Vanderbilt. Defense must rise up to keep us in the game.
Go, Phoenix!

Looks like weather could be a factor as well.
Go Phoenix!

Good defense for the first half. SLOPPY offense. Poor execution on offense. #AE_

Grateful for the win. However, add the D(iscipline) and our score would have easily been double what it was. Defense devastated Wofford. They never got to the red zone and I don't think they got into Elon territory more than twice. Hoping for more of the same D against Gardner Webb, and improvement for our offense. BTW, There were no sacks of Mac or Allen. So, Kudos to the OL for that.

Very proud of the team. First win against Wofford in like a decade. No turnovers on a soaking wet night. McKay had 230 yards passing on a spongy field where it was likely very difficult to plant your feet to throw, hard to hang onto the ball for the receivers and QB alike. The OL prevented any sacks and like 2 tfl. Plus, our D flat shut down any Wofford offense. Grateful? I’d say remarkable, truly amazing performance!

Just watched the playback and it is so weird to see Wofford run an offense that is not the option. They are going to have some growing pains there until they get the right supporting cast in. Yet, solid play by the Phoenix.
Also, I’d like to say that this receiving core is solid and will continue to grow. I hope McKay continues to increase in confidence and looking forward to see him just play free.
G-Webb is a decent team and I hope our guys are ready to go. They only lost by four @ Coastal Carolina last night, so we will definitely have our hands full this Saturday.

I think the only thing keeping this team from being great is the play calling. We need more imagination and if you are determined to run the tailback on 4th down, take the snap from under center and the back will get the ball quicker . Overall this was a good effort, but it was Wofford not Delaware or William and Mary.

A good win against a team we've had trouble with for a long time. I was glad to see Cole Coleman back on the field. He made his presence known.
If our offense ever develops some consistency, we'll be hard to stop.
Gardner-Webb embarrassed us in spring 2021. But if our defense plays as well against the Runnin' Bulldogs as they did against Wofford last night, there's no reason why we can't avenge that 2021 loss.
Go, Phoenix!

Good win Saturday. Last year we were much improved over the past several years. Looks like we may be a contender yet again. Excited to be an Elon Football Fan. GO Phoenix!
