Seems like a decent get from a pretty good program. I noticed some of the recent videos have him listed as 6'7". After Campbell, Harrell and Dorn, how many spots do we have left? 3 or 4? Go Phoenix! Here are our scholarship players with their remaining eligibility: Zac Ervin - 1 JaDun Michael - 2 Sam Sherry - 2 LA Pratt - 3 Max Mackinnon - 3 Deandre Smart - 4* Should get a medical redshirt Isaac Harrell - 4 Nicholas Dorn - 4 Kendall Campbell - 4 That's a total of 9 scholarship players, so we currently have 4 spots remaining. We're young, but looks like we have some talent! Time will tell. I'm still hoping we can get 2-3 solid/experienced players from the portal.

Looks like another quality player. Articles I read state he may of been best unsigned player in the state of Michigan. His dad played a couple of years as a shooting guard for the Phoenix Suns. AVerages 26 points a game in high school. Looks to be a prolific shooter and good playmaker.
That is the fourth scholarship given to incoming Freshman and two quality walk ons added. Not sure if we have any scholarships left. Maybe one - I am not sure. Starting to think that Taylor may not be a portal guy. Thoughts???

We have 3 schollys left. Still room for a choice portal player or two. We still have 5 open offers out, but if they haven't committed yet, it's at their own risk.

Looks like the season opener will be at Wake on Nov 6th. Go Phoenix! This is our roster?? There’s still nearly 1,000 players in the portal and Coach Taylor seemingly settled for immediate signings that I’m not sure had any other D1 interest. My guess is he had an early summer vacation he’s running off to now. Barring this Rutgers transfer becoming the second coming of Jonas Jerebko, we are in for a bottom 4 finish. This is looking like an awful season ahead and overall pitiful hire. Rise Phoenix! Class of ‘82

Taylor did a decent enough job last year under VERY difficult circumstances. But like I said when he was hired, he is not the long term answer. He will coach next year and the year after, then we will fire him. And we will start over.

I disagree with the two previous post. I believe we are much better team now then we were last year with a lot of promise. We are bringing back the CAA Rookie of the year along with Sherry who was outstanding last season. Taylor has added some talented young rookies to include Kendall Campbell who was heavily recruited by many Power 5 teams. Also, Issac Harrell who has a tremendous outside game and is a strong player. Added to them is Nicholas Dorn who was well recruited and brother of former NC State star. Then look at the transfers. the last player from Rutgers has serious potential. He never say the floor but was a heavily recruited P5 player. I believe with more game time he is a solid contributor. And Rod Higgins at PG is going to be a much better player than Halloran was. So we improved in that area as well. I am excited about seeing this team next season. No, we are not going to be a top 4 team in the league but I see us doing much better and more consistent then last season. Also don't forget that Deandre Smart will be back and he showed just in two or three games he was going to be a big time player.
Not sure what some of you expected from the portal. We were not going to land a Caleb Love type player. THose guys are looking for exposure. A P5 player that is of star quality is not going to play down to a lower level league. Why would they. The type of players we are going to have access to at the P5 level are the guys who are not getting playing time or who have been injured most of their career and aren't playing or have falling off the depth chart. Like a Marcus Sheffield or Torrence Watson. These guys were riddled with injuries and forgotten about on their teams. Because of coaching connections they came to Elon.
I refuse to not think this team has potential. We are going to be young but if they gel and there is some talent there then potential is good that we show some success in a couple of years. I can tell you now that Taylor is not going anywhere anytime soon nor has he given a reason that he should.

Taylor gets a pass for last year. But if he puts in two more losing seasons, he should (and will) be toast.

I generally agree with you ehoops. I do, however, hold on to the dream, (regardless of how unrealistic), that Book and the trustees will realize what a phenomenal opportunity they have to really make Elon more of a household name, (a la Davidson, Richmond and George Mason), and provide men's and Women's basketball the $$$$ they deserve. At that point, we'll definitely need better recruiting, but I do understand it's a process, not an overnight change.

I can tell you now that Taylor is not going anywhere anytime soon nor has he given a reason that he should. Not sure how you can be so dense. The Caleb love comparison is useless, nobody expects that level of player to look our way and has nothing to do with the original post. Higgins played on a team that was ranked 350 in Net (actually worse than us), averaged less scoring, assists and had a worse field goal percentage in one of the worst conferences in the country. Halloran was not the answer but to call Higgins an immediate upgrade is hyperbole at best. I am excited about the return of DS, as well as Dorn, Campbell and our freshman class. However, relying on young talent while we still live in the extra Covid year of eligibility world, where many teams are going to start exclusively upperclassmen and grad transfers is a challenge. We are going to be extremely young. Bringing in guys like Watson and Sheffield and our new Rutgers transfer should be the norm, not an exception. Our coaching staff is paid to have the connections to bring these guys in. We have the facilities and an attractive school to bring in P5 transfers in search of a larger role. Immediate playing time is everywhere on our roster with the exception of McKinnon’s minutes, we should have been able to attract multiple power 5 transfers. Over 1/3rd of NCAAM players entered the portal this year.I refuse to believe there weren’t other power five guys stuck on the end of a deep bench somewhere that would love the idea of getting big time minutes here. With each passing year we lose the attractiveness of our program. We can no longer sell having a brand new arena, as we’re now half a decade into the new facility, and have nothing to show for it. It’s the lack of urgency to try and win now, when the portal makes that very well possible a huge frustration. It is these above reasons I am skeptical of Taylor so far. I would love to be proven wrong. Have a nice weekend. Rise Phoenix! Class of ‘82
