Old(ish) man rant here. Just bought 2 tix to the UNCG game from their website (they use Ticketmaster). Two tickets with a face value of $18 each cost me $57.30. I almost did not hit the BUY button (the game is on TV after all), but I have looking forward to this game. These fees are criminal. Although I think Elon’s ticket price is a little high ($20), at least when I buy one it’s $20. No more. Well done Elon.

I'm assuming you can buy tickets walk up? If so, not sure if those same fees apply. I've seen instances where they don't. Given the game being Sunday afternoon and a big facility, I'd think there will be plenty of availability. It is funny that Ticketmaster pretty much facilitates ticket scalping through resell now that they can profit off of it. The whole thing is a racket. Go Phoenix!

Does that at least get you the women's game, too? It's a DH with the women (also vs. Elon) starting at 2. If so, that at least makes it a little bit better of a deal (not that the Ticketmaster fees shouldn't be illegal).

Nope. Just the Mens game. And I think Covid pretty muck killed the human box office. Most events I attend don’t have the old box office anymore. Just a sign telling you how to buy your tickets on your phone.

And I just realized, I will have to pay to park at the Coliseum. Another $5-10 bucks (the website just gives a range). Sorry, but over $60 bucks for two people just to get into the building for a mid-major college basketball game is mental. Rant now over

Just went to Disney on Ice last weekend and it cost $20.00 to park your car.

UNCG Spartan fan here. Looking forward to the contest.
You are correct the fees stink. You might skirt those if you walk up and purchase. Worst case you have to pay the fees anyway, best case is you don't. This is a gamble worth taking. I don't anticipate a good crowd at all. The students are finishing exams and we played EKU last night on campus bc of it and there were a shade under 700 people there. Sad bc the team is pretty good this season but local support for any athletic teams, successful or not, has seemed to dip with the proliferation of TV/Streaming (sorry for the side vent). Even with this being a local rivalry type contest I still don't see it being a problem. It will be a night where there will be plenty of empties and you can sit anywhere only to have the one fan come and say you are in their seats as you look in the section and see 100s of seats empty.
As far as the contest, we shoot a lot of 3s and been reasonably successful making them. We have a good low post player in MBJ but his post mate is still young and raw. Our guards, yes the Langleys are still here, are very good and our SF is a sharpshooter (Atwell went 8-10 from three last night). I'm glad we pulled out a squeaker prior to playing your team bc coach can use that to refocus everyone as we have been smelling ourselves the last couple of games. We have a tendency to not rebound the ball very well bc we are usually so engaged in playing hard nose defense so we, at least in my opinion, tend to not turn and box out to rebound. MBJ and Atwell will be on some P5 coach's portal wish list board soon enough if they keep it up.
Good luck and look forward to a good clean game (we had a horribly atrocious official last night, just awful). Here's to a decently officiated game.

That’s a shame about the attendance. UNCG has a very good team, and more importantly, a really good PROGRAM. 700 fans with a school of nearly 20,000 has to be frustrating. Not that it makes you feel any better, we have a apathy problem with basketball as well (although football drew well this year). Although the community comes out for BB games, our student support as been non-existent. I feel it’s a broader problem across college athletics as well. Kids aren’t into sports as they used to be. The student section at Wake was not impressive when I went to a game earlier this year. Looking forward to a great game on Sunday!

Spartan fan here. Looking forward to a good game tomorrow in the Coliseum. As mentioned above we have some shooters who can get hot and change the course of a game. This might be the most balanced team we’ve had offensively in years. UNCG hasn’t had an active fan forum for years so a few of us have started a blog and fan forum which we hope will be much more active, including in game chat. Feel free to wander over. The link is spartanfans.club

Good game. UNCG was clearly the better team, but it really says something that we were at least in position to perhaps steal a win in the last minute. This Elon squad has heart. With that said, this was not a game Zac is going to want to remember. Got off to a nice start, but then went cold (including an airball and backboard brick), and never heated back up. Also, missing 2 out of 3 free throws at the end of the half is something a veteran shooter just can’t do. And his end of game turnover ended any chance of a win. Not a great game. My point is, why was Max (again) on the bench for long stretches in the 2nd half??? (Only 18 min for the game). Same story at Radford. Now I didn’t see the Radford game, but I did see this one. And it was clear that Zac was getting Max’s minutes. Love Zac and his toughness, however Max is a better player. Period. And then you factor in Zac’s struggles tonight, the rotation tonight made no sense. Until absolutely proven otherwise, there is no reason Max should be getting less than 30 min a night. He is gotten 18 min the last 2 games, and we lost both.

I agree on the mystery rotation. Simpkins only had 18 minutes and scored 8 Points, 3 Rebounds and 2 Assist in that time. Dorm only had 14 minutes. They both set out most of the second half. Why are we keeping our best players on the bench?

Agreed 96 and EH4L. Plus, we just don't seem to play well when we're trying to run sets. It's just too slow for our personnel. My favorite group to watch is Pratt, Simpkins, Dorn, Ervin and Sherry. Those guys get into a flow & at times they just look unstoppable offensively. Probably not the best defensive group though.

Good game Phoenix. You guys battled back in the second half and made it a close one down the stretch. Our guys fell asleep at the beginning of the second half and your team took advantage. The Elon players could have easily mailed it in but they didn't and fought to make it a game.
From our perspective #10 (I think Wiggins) and #4 (Sherry?) seemed to be hard nosed. I could be getting #10 mixed with the guy from Australia, either way they hung in there. As I said our sharpshooter, Atwell, had a great game but the Langleys didn't. Keyshawn was hurt and didn't play and Kobe, his twin, had a very off game. MBJ down low played real well but thought we went away from him too soon in our second half swoon.
This should be an annual game and do something to try and pump up attendance each year at each other's home court.
Good luck the rest of the season.
