This may be an isolated take, but Charlotte Smith is firmly on the hot seat. If Tendler has not been let go after last season, then I expect her to get one more year. However, the product is beyond disappointing for the second consecutive season. Just a complete letdown.

Until digging a little bit after the Wingate loss, I didn't realize how poor Smith's record has been since the back-to-back tourney appearances. She's 60-89 overall the past 6 seasons. She was 139-85 the 7 seasons prior.

You can almost draw a straight line to when she “lost it”. If you remember, she was a leading candidate (some think the clear favorite) to replace Hatchell at UNC. Smith was coming off multiple excellent seasons at Elon, and is an absolute legend in Chapel Hill. When she was passed over for what I’m sure was her dream job, she lost the drive to succeed like before. Just my observation.

Good point. Either way, she's proven that UNC made the right decision.
