Just putting this here now, I need to see this team for the remainder of the season. The effort, energy, and defensive play has been solid. They definitely need more from TK, but this is what I had hoped to see all season; but I’ll take it tonight. Hope they can close it out.

That’s a top-100 win for the Phoenix. HUGE win tonight at the buzzer. Big play by Isaac!

One of the 2-3 biggest wins in the D1 era. I know UNCW KenPom is like 99..which in itself is pretty good…but they are better than that. Like Top 60. UNCW has been getting Top 25 votes!
Elon was a 16.5 point underdog. That’s like being a 35 point dog in football. Which means if you put 1,000 bucks on Elon, you can probably retire a few years earlier than you were planning.
Really, really excited for this team!

And also, a huge win again without Higgins. Wow.

I guess Higgins injury is pretty significant. I think this was his 5th straight game out. On Thursday against Delaware, he was dressed kinda like an asst., and sat next to the other coaches. He even held a notebook during some timeouts. I got the feeling his season might be over. I hope I’m wrong. He has been a real pleasant surprise, and was unquestionably our MVP during the first 10 games of the season.

I'm VERY proud of this team for many reasons, but the biggest thing is they obviously haven't given up on each other. GO PHOENIX!!

A great win for sure. I have to be honest - I was thinking in the first half - Here we go again....The momentum was clearly going Wilmington's way when they were up 15. We could not take care of the ball and was outrebounded 20-12. Wilmington was killing us with points in the paint and were up on us 12-2 in 2nd chance points. COaches made necessary adjustments and played a wonderful 2nd half. Phillips for Wilmington had 9 assist in first half but none in the second. Elon ended the game with equal amount of rebounds and turnovers so we did a complete 180 as did Wilmington thanks to Elon's defense. Didn't think I would ever say that. Pratt's three at the end of the first half was huge. Big difference in moral being down 6 instead of 9. Great win. We MUST be Northeastern to have a chance of not playing on Friday in the tournament. If we lose then we are most likely guaranteed to play Friday. Teams directly in front of us - Campbell and Northeastern would both own the tiebreaker over Elon which makes it near impossible. I feel we have to beat NE and could lose to Hofstra assuming we beat William & Mary which we will be favored and Monmouth which is going to be close to a pick'em game. We shall see.

I see no reason we can’t beat NE. That game will be the key to this end of season run. Asking this team to beat a good Hofstra team at their gym is probably asking a bit much. We SHOULD however beat Bill and Mary and Monmouth at home to finish. Those results would mean Elon would finish the season on a 5-1 run!

I would be totally ok with that heading into tournament play where anything is possible.

He always gives us fits. Sherry, KC and Dre are gonna need good games collectively to win.

Here's what I think "should" happen for the rest of the season with the teams that are in danger of playing the first day of the tournament. Hopefully it works out this way.
Elon - 8/10 NE - W HOF - L W&M - W MON - W
Northeastern - 6/12 ELON - L HU - W UD - L DREX - L
NCA&T - 5/13 SB - L MON - L TOW - L CU - L
William & Mary - 4/14 UNCW - L SB - L ELON - L HU - W
Hampton - 1/17 CU - L NE - L MON - L W&M - L
Hopefully it will work out this way. Northeastern has the toughest finish of all these teams. I'm sure Cohen is thinking the Elon game is a must win because the likelihood of their beating UD or Drexel is small. Beating Elon and Hampton will probably keep them out of the bottom 4, because they'll own the tiebreaker versus us, all other things happening the way I listed them.
Therefore, Billy needs to think this way as well. Anything can happen, but that's the way I see it.

Campbell could wind up 7/11 if they lose to A&T again. They probably won't at home but anything could happen.
