Aside from the first 6 minutes of the second half, THESE GUYS RESPONDED WELL. We're back to business as usual.
The defense in the first half was amazing. They shutdown the low post pretty easily and forced Wofford into LOOOOOOOOOONG one shot possesions.
Chris Long.....wow. This guy can really get a turnaround jumper and shake off his defender. He's not that bad on defense, either. He's gonna have to run this team next year at the point, and he's getting great experience.
Monty is a two-way guy....he can shoot and can rebound. He had a solid night.
How about Ola going 8-8 from the line? Wow. He has really become a great post player....he got a little lazy in the low post on the boards in the second, but he got the job done tonight!
Montell did very well shooting. It was like reliving old memories of his grandma yelling "Come on Montell! Shake and bake, baby! Shake and bake" at the Richmond game in '04-'05. His leadership was real well tonight, especially when he had to calm down Waters after that bogus foul on him in the second.
Like I said, based on what I saw, we're back to business as usual with this season. I would recommend the next time a team counters with a full court press, be a lot quicker. We let them get set one too many times on the full court press. I know we run a slow, effective offense, but when you see a press....RUN please!
Good crowd for this time of year. They are really doing things at Elon nowadays!
