Yes, we should be better than that, but the RPI is pretty accurate.
We have lost a lot of games that we should not have lost. And we've had a lot of close games with teams we should have stopped easily.
We're 25-20. Which, isn't bad and sure beats the heck out of a losing record, but isn't all that stellar.
Personally, I think our RPI and Warren Nolan ranks are accurate. But to be honest, yes, the team is better than we are playing.

We let one get away from A&T, Princeton, Furman, and App. Thats your difference maker in this season. If not for those losses.....28-16....might still have a chance at an at-large.
2004 was worse than this and, I feel, was a bigger under achieving squad than this one. Not saying this one is to be glorified, though.

were 24-20 and 15-6 we only have 1 more away game left. we really have a shot to make some noise going into "the home stretch" (no pun intended)

I am not saying that this year is as bad or worse or better than 2004. From my fan perspective, it seemed that last year's team played well as a team and sort of "gelled" and it just seems like there is no sort of consistency this year.
One day we have pitching problems, another day we're lucky to get 1 run after putting up 10 the previous game. Another game we're committing a ton of errors.
All in all, it is consistency. I am not blaming anyone. It is just hard to watch.

Adam, why did the old board get opened again? confusing. Get a grip. Last year was our GOAT seasons. lots of close come from behind victories, tough OOC schedule and key graduation losses. this year We have not closed off some of close games sure We have won some but other programs have improved and it is frustrating. I think We could be the team no one wants to see in the tournament. RPI is a joke. with who we can and do play I say let them all take a shot.

Get a grip? I made a pretty objective post. I gave examples. I gave why I think our RPI is accurate.
Sheesh.
Why does it matter if the old board is up or not or the reason why?

Why does it matter if the old board is up or not or the reason why? nevermind I found this board via another old poster on your board, I lost my contribution outlet and it pissed me off that you shut it down. You really set a high standard and took a real leadership role in getting us a top flight Phan board. I really missed it. this group seems fine and it was a fluke i hit yours in my bookmarks. I'm glad your ok but for you to be signed on as a "guest' is like saying tiger woods is just another golfer. I hope your family is well and growing!!! BTW I'm going to get football tickets again..... after 2 yr boycott I like where the football program is headed.
