Elon wins by 2 on sat. This close game shows how much of a home team we are.

wow got this of the furman board. Looks like we just won by a fraction of a sec
Opacic had the best game I have seen him play. He was a force for us. Unfortunately, the guard shooting and free throw shooting went south and stayed there. Defense was tough and agressive.
The last play was the best of times/worst of times. Lots of action down low, bodies everywhere, then the ball is kicked out to Tony who lets her rip - GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD. Paladins WIN Paladins WIN. Students pour onto the court, but oops, SoConvicts are huddled up. And wouldn't you know it, they would pick THIS time to come out with the right call. Anyway, it was an exciting game, and a great comeback by the Paladins. Their 35-40 footer swished at the end of the first half, our 23 footer swished at the end of the game. But time had expired. Barely.
SoConvicts called ticky tack fouls in the games first 32 seconds, showing they were in charge. Then they resumed their old horribly inconsistent form.

A win is a win, and a road win for this team is huge.

Agreed. Take the win any way you can get it. Now they get a couple home games to try and improve on the 5-3 conference start. Great job guys.
Go Phoenix!

I was there yesterday at Furman, WOW. I wasn't expecting it to be much of a contest, since Furman is so bad. The Furman Fury produced a VERY hostile environment in Timmons Arena. They had the "You suck Nestor" chant going the whole game. I was pleased with the Elon fan turnout, also.
We dominated most of the game, even though we played horribly. I don't know why we can't play well on the road. Brett really stepped up and took control in the second half, after a ridiculous 3 at the end of the first half. We were up by 15 at one point and Furman caught fire a little. We let the lead dwindle down to 2, gave up the lead, and then we regained it with a well-designed ally-oop to BJ. That's the play we needed against Davidson!
The last second was outrageous. We were up by 2 and they had possession. The 3 that the guy hit was WELL after 0:00 on the clock. Like it wasn't even CLOSE. I literally told my friend "let's get out of here" after the buzzer rang and before he shot it. The Furman crowd stormed the court, the players went wild, the band went crazy. After the call reversal, their coach went balistic.
We escaped immediately following since we had been given the Furman fans a hard time.
