With a big assist from ElonPhoenix.com now displaying each sport's overall and conference records, here's the current state of Phoenix Spring sports:
Baseball (17-14, 7-2) Men's Tennis (17-2, 8-0) Softball (21-16, 5-1) Women's Tennis (10-9, 4-3)
Great job to all coaches and athletes. Everybody has a winning record overall and in conference.

Women's tennis is having its best season since going D-I. The highest they could probably finish is fourth because Davidson, Furman, and C of C are powers in this sport.
You'll be hearing more about softball. They should sweep Furman and UNCG, but you never know. They have an ok shot of doing the same to App. The Chattanooga and Georgia Southern series will make or break a title run, which Elon has an outside chance of getting.
Men's Tennis might very well go undefeated in conference and win the rest of their matches. They will be making some noise.
Baseball....if they could only have 2 or 3 more non-conference wins. They are doing fine in conference and they could still be third if they keep up the pace, maybe even second. Its a bit of a down year for baseball, but that doesn't mean bad.

Who is going to beat us in the SoCon in baseball? We're currently sitting atop the conference (tied), and we have yet to lose a series. We swept Davidson like we should have, we beat App 2 of 3 at App and we won the other series 2 of 3 (Cant remember who we played). I agree, we could use another midweek win or two (lets beat Wake), but I think we're playing well right now and still have a shot at the title

I'm sure all of the spring sports success will go unnoticed by all the naysayers. As for baseball, the weekend rotation is solid and I like our chances in every SoCon series, but CofC, WCU, GSU are all going to be tough. None of the conference teams this year are guaranteed cakewalks. Barring a huge win streak the guys look like they'll need to use the conference tourney to earn a spot in the postseason.
Go Phoenix!

I said I would be the first to eat crow if things got better. So far they have. Men's Tennis is without a doubt dominating the scene. I hope I don't jinx them by talking about them.
Women's Tennis and Softball are exceeding expectations and I congratulate them on that.
Baseball, I still say this is a rough year. 17-14 and 7-2 in conference. I'll take it rather than a losing record. But if you want my honest opinion, this team is majorly underachieving this year. There's no reason we shouldn't be 9-0 in the conference.
So there you go, one naysayer is willing to eat crow. But there is still a lot of season left. Either I can eat a lot of crow or things can go south. I'll hope for the best, but this is Elon we're talking about.

i agree with you on baseball, there is no reason we should not be 9-0, our pitching is the biggest reason. but we are still winning every set of games. CoC is the biggest one im worrying about. It will be the deciding factor on our placement in the conf. If we can take 2 of 3 i thing we have a shot at no 1 in the conf

If Wofford can beat C of C....at C of C....anything can happen.
