That is why I said earlier who gives a crApp about apps pitchers. App sucks in baseball. Elon has nothing to worry about.

From what I understand, we used our best arms going for a win against USC on Wednesday night--settling for a 4 - 1 loss! We bit the Proverbial bullet in the 24 - 2 romp for your guys. Different story today in a one run, 12 inning ASU win. Tomorrow's a big early-season rubber-match! www.goasu.com/article/10575/

I noticed Sherrill went 5 innings today, isn't he one of your weekend starters? Who is your starter for tomorrow? I was worried about ASU bouncing back today and while we nearly managed to steal a win, you guys hung on. I hope to catch a little of tomorrow's game online.
Go Phoenix!

So basically, we blew it today. And tomorrow is the weekly loss we're all used to now. App will take the series and we can all sit and look at the glass half full.

Elon takes 2 of three. A great weekend. We went to about 5 1/2 innings yesterday so it was nice to see that Elon did come back. It was pretty cold in Hickory and we had other plans so could not stay.
We still have a winning record and near the top of the SoCon standings (if not the top).
As far as the crApp fans, my girlfriend got offended by them yesterday, so its not just me.
Im looking forward to going to another game or two soon...

How does it feel to be wrong?
When App used Garrett Sherrill on Saturday, I knew they did not have a chance today. Edens has improved drastically since I last saw him, but he's probably the fourth to sixth best pitcher on that team.
Even Sherill didn't look that sharp. The Phoenix got back in the game when Rook ran out of gas in the 7th on Saturday. Rook was dominating us for six innings. Sherrill came in and he had some issues. He still got the win, but Sherrill is better than he showed Saturday.
Friday's game showed how thin their bullpen is. That Matt Andress is NOT a Friday starter. Not even close. I'd start Edens before him. Friday, App wasn't ready...their bullpen did worse. Even when we had our bench players in there, we still lit them up. It was baffling. But that woke App up. I had a feeling scoring 24 runs would be a bit much. Granted, when we got in the ninth, we got ULTRA conservative with base running because those guys did not want to run up the score on them.
However, App is not horrible at baseball anymore. I SAW IT FIRST HAND. They have some pitching and I think they will be easily better than Davidson and Wofford. They will probably have a better year than Furman and if they win the UNCG series, I think they'll finish above them, too. The Furman and UNCG series are probably going to be the most high stakes series for them to take. If they take those, they will be 7th and will continue to move up the standings in the years to come.
This series was a big one because this team I think has its intangibles right. Hensley had a great start and Romanowicz DOMINATED today. If Romo keeps that up, he might take Hensley's spot. We have a REAL strong 1 and 2 again, but we need that 3rd starter. We'll be fine. We might not sweep The Citadel (I know, the sky is falling), but we have a chance to go two of three.
Coastal will be tough....BECAUSE THEY ARE A TOP 25 TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!! Yet, with a midweeker in there, we have a chance. We just have to see how we do on the mound. The Chants are an incredible fastball hitting team, but something tells me they aren't that great at the breaking stuff. We shall see.
