Elon's men are doing well. Interesting that the Samford women are #1.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – On the strength of top-three finishes in both men’s soccer and football, Elon University concluded the fall sports season in a program-high second place among the 12 institutions competing in fall men’s athletics in the race for the Southern Conference Commissioner’s Cup. The Phoenix ranks eighth in the Germann Cup standings, recognizing the league’s 12 women’s athletics programs.
Elon forged an unblemished 7-0 record in SoCon action for the first time ever to finish in first place out of the conference’s eight men’s soccer teams. The Phoenix put together a best-ever 6-2 league ledger to seize sole possession of third place out of the conference’s nine football squads while the Elon volleyball team erupted to its best Division I start ever – 10-3 – en route to a fourth-place finish in the SoCon North Division.
The Phoenix finished in sixth place out of the 11 squads in men’s cross country, in sixth place out of the 12 teams in women’s cross country and in seventh place out of the 12 squads in women’s soccer.
Appalachian State (34 points) leads the Commissioner’s Cup standings, followed by Elon (29), Furman (28), Wofford (19), Georgia Southern (18), Samford (17), UNC Greensboro (16), Chattanooga (15), College of Charleston (12), Davidson (11), Western Carolina (11) and The Citadel (9). Samford (32 points) holds first place in the Germann Cup standings, followed by Furman (29), UNC Greensboro (26), College of Charleston (22), Davidson (22), Chattanooga (21), Western Carolina (21), Elon (18), Appalachian State (16), Georgia Southern (12.5), Wofford (8) and The Citadel (4.5).
“The accomplishments of our programs to this point in the season serve as a testament to the tremendous progress that our teams have made during our short period of time in the Southern Conference,” Elon Director of Athletics Dave Blank said. “I am very proud of all of our student-athletes and coaches for their hard work and well-deserved success and am anxious to see what the remainder of the year brings for Elon, as our goals are centered upon competing for championships in every sport.”
At the conclusion of the academic year, the Commissioner’s Cup and the Germann Cup are awarded annually to the Southern Conference schools fielding the league’s best all-around men’s and women’s sports programs. The Commissioner’s Cup originated in 1970 and the Germann Cup, named after former SoCon Commissioner Ken Germann, was first awarded in 1987.
