its a baseball football combo. If my sources are right they will move the screen from football to baseball depending on the season. sounds like its a great deal

I haven't heard of a multi-venue display. That doesn't sound like a high quality video board for football from what I have read about those products. I would think it would be a single venue (football). They are installing one for this season though so at least we are getting up to date with the technology/crowd amenities.

Elon adds video scoreboard By Michael Abernethy/Times-News August 9 Sam Roberts / Times-News Davis Sign Co. technician Tim Wood, bottom left, looks over the new Daktronics scoreboard and videoboard Wednesday at Elon University’s Rhodes Stadium. ELON — A new video scoreboard puts Elon University’s Rhodes Stadium in league with the state’s largest schools.
The 10-by-32-foot, $200,000 screen was erected Wednesday in the stadium’s north end zone, replac-ing the old scoreboard. The board now stands 28 feet tall.
The school hopes the flashy screen will lend Elon an edge in the Southern Conference and add to the game-day atmosphere.
“This will make our facility have a major-league feel,” said Dave Blank, Elon’s director of athletics. “We want to have a great fan experience. And this will help us with recruiting.
Our facility is very competitive in the Southern Conference. Having this aspect, with the video, will add to that.”
Daktronics, manufacturer of the screen, builds and designs video boards for professional sports are-nas across the country, including those at Charlotte’s Bank of America Stadium, the Charlotte Bobcats Arena, and the world’s largest high definition LED screen at Dolphin Stadium in Miami. The company is based in Brookings, S.D.
The board should add live action, instant replay and graphics capabilities to the stadium. Some graphic content would eventually come from students in Elon’s school of communications, said Trip Durham, associate director of athletics.
“This definitely puts us in a different class of venues from where we were,” Durham said. “It’s a de-livery system comparable with the major-league level.”
The new board comes as part of the university’s five-year contract with Action Sports Media, a colle-giate sports marketing firm. That company specializes in multimedia marketing and game-day media at 11 NCAA universities and 19 other colleges. In the agreement, Knoxville, Tenn.-based ASM has the rights to all Phoenix advertising, print and Web materials.
