Is there anyone else who has grown tired of passing billboard after billboard of other athletic programs in North Carolina when driving around this great state of ours? I for one can't wrap my head around the fact that Elon only has one billboard (which is basically at the Elon exit off 85/40) and you can't make the drive down east without passing several UNC, ECU, NC State, and now even App State billboards.
Does anyone care to shed a little more light on the reasoning behind this? I for one think billboards (especially during peak driving seasons) would help expand our footprint and increase pride among alumns in the area which could in turn boost attendance at our athletic events.

Billboard space isn't cheap, especially on the interstate. This may be the reason. However, coming from a marketing background, there are several questions I'd like to ask the SID, who I assume is in charge of the sports marketing.

The SIDs are NOT in charge of marketing in the sense of billboards, advertising, etc. They are in charge of media relations. The Elon athletics department has someone else who is in charge of marketing in addition to a contract with ISP Sports to sell advertising and sponsorships.

The advertising ISP is selling is not Elon advertising. Companies buy advertising to be displayed at Elon events.
