Double header today after some inclement weather last night. Already up 8-0 on 8 hits through the top of the 4th of the first game. Dylan Clark is pitching in this one, so I assume Webb will go in the 2nd.

Unfortunately it is tough to make a lot of games based out of Colorado. I mostly follow the gametracker and/or listen/watch when the links are available. I am trying to see about getting a weekend back to NC to go see a series, but probably going to be next year before that can happen.

Lost the last 2, both in extras after having leads in the top of the inning. Disappointing series loss, but it was on the road.
Clemson up next during this week. Another chance for quality wins...need to take advantage at some point this season.

We're on track for 30+ wins. Just need to develop the bench a whole lot more if they want contributions in tourney play. Same with pitching depth. Just winning SoCon shouldn't be enough of a goal anymore for this coaching staff. They have to develop beyond winning SoCon. They seem to be playing same style and expecting a different result. Not sure if that's wise. The montra the "ring goes thru Elon" didn't help last year In tourney play and shouldn't be the ultimate goal this year. We've proven we can win the SoCon ... Time for this program to deliver a little bit more. Just an opinion.

Agreed bballfan. This is a tough series loss whether it was on the road or not. The way the two games were lost and the fact it was arguably one of the bottom 2 or 3 conference teams.
It'll be interesting to see what happens this weekend with App, but all indications right now point to App being the team to beat. Have to take 2 of 3 at a minimum, but that won't be easy if the pitching doesn't come through.
Go Phoenix!

The loss was tough. The issue with tournament ball/Socon/ NCAA Regional Tourneys is that you don't know who you're going to play and what style of play will get you the W. So it is best to develop several styles of play and use the style of play that gives your team the best chance to win strategically against that particular opponent.
This team plays like it is a one trick pony. They have the beef with McCoury, Kinsella, Koster and even Lewis and HR potential with Gomey, Luce to go to a power lineup, if they choose, but try to win with the same style all the time.
It would be smart if they tried to get a power game going with enough AB's so that you have a chance in case you need to go to it in tourney play. There will be occasions/pitchers where you are only going to get 5-6 hits and maybe a HBP or a BB .... it would be nice to develop a power game to take advantage of good pitching. No one says that your clutch hit always has to be a single or a gapper.
If you don't give these guys at least 50 regular AB (not one AB every 10 days ,,, I think it took McCoury 70 AB's to hit his first HR last season) .... you won't be able to count on their AB in the clutch.
Winning the SoCon is a secondary goal when you're a regular at it, getting to the big dance would show progress for this program and it won't happen until they diversify play to give them better chances against an unpredictable opponent.
Basically there is small ball and long ball .... it would be nice to go into NCAA regionals with both barrels. If you have the bullets .... put them in the chamber. Go Phoenix.
