I have been talking to you guys for a while now and feel like I know many of you,,,,,,at least I know your intentions. Most of you seem like good folks at heart and I just wanted to get your opinion of an issue I am having in my personal life right now.
All the crazy fan vs fan stuff aside,,,,,,,I really want to know what you think.
I have a slight problem. I get to see my daughter every 2 weeks on the weekend(she lives with her mother) and I am having money issues. My ex-wife loaned me $40 to get my daughter something for her b-day and I really had no idea what to get. I asked her, Bonnie, what would you like Daddy to get you? She said "All I want is for you to be happy, Daddy."
Well I had $25 of my own money to spend and my ex- wife's $40 finally meant I had enough money to buy Modern Warfare 2(been wanting this game like crazy). I asked my daughter if she really meant want she said and she told me she wanted me to buy the game. Now I feel kind of bad. I ended up playing it all weekend while she just sat in her room.(no way would I let her watch this game.) I feel like I really should have done something with that money. Maybe I could have bought her a pretty dress or take her some place fun.
Do you think I should try to sell the game back? I'm thinking I should and then surprise her when she comes back in a couple weeks. I will admit I'm loving MW2, though. I am tempted to keep it. What would yall do?

I think you should've got her something with that money, I assume you got MW3, not MW2. Its a pretty good game, but not better than your relationship with your daughter should be. If you sell the game back to gamestop you'll only get at most $30 in store credit, and I think they take 20% away to give you cash, so its not worth it to do that. I think you're kind of up a creek without a paddle. You should find a way to get some money and get your daughter something, or at least do something with her instead of just playing the game while you make her sit in her room.

what game do you think I should trade for? I like MW3 and stuff like Mortal Combat. I was hoping to get her into the MW, but she refuses to even watch it now. I can't win.

I truly hope your joking in this thread. If not get her something that's not a video game.

I think you have to stick with MW3 for now, and find something else to get her. Another option (kind of expensive) is to get a Nintendo Wii and there are games you can play with her (i.e. Mario Kart, Mario Party). That way you can play games with her and you can both enjoy. It'll be good for your relationship with her

I told my ex wife about this idea and tried to get her to pay half, which I think is only fair since me and Bonnie will get some new games, but she got really mad for some reason. Now she won't return my texts. Any more ideas?

Buy her WCU season tickets, she will get about as much use out of them as she would from MW3

She was probably mad because you took the money that she lent you to buy a birthday present for your daughter and bought yourself a video game. If you really like the Wii idea, you might want to trade in some old games for whatever system you have and come up with some money and take the store credit and get a Wii and some games. I just traded in a few games like 2 weeks ago and bought a used copy of SSX and got it for free. That might be something worth looking into.
