Another big weekend is socon play. If we take 2 of 3 we will be tied with them in the standings. We need to keep the bats alive and keep away from the extra inning games. with a 73 rpi, we should still stay near the top in SOS.

This is going to be a tough road series and a series win would be great. Just a few stats I was looking at...
Pitching matchups look good, Samford has a 3.45 team ERA and Elon is right at 3.50. I cant figure out how Samford's Friday and Saturday guys are both 1-3 with 3.06 ERA's. Samford is batting .303 as a team, so they hit the ball well. Our bats have come alive - Swim is up to .340 and Gomez is at .299 and Luce at .295.

Man, 18 innings in a game that spanned two days. That's a tough way to take the series over Samford!!!
Keep it up on the road and get the sweep!

Glad we hung on. A few game saving outs at the plate.

And while it may not have been the prettiest and heart-friendly ending, we get the sweep. Great weekend for the Phoenix.

Crazy final two games. Almost identical to the Davidson series except this time they were able to hang on to the lead. Good to see Webb back in action in relief.
RPI at 22 now. Would be nice to get a road win at #3 UNC (RPI). Also, Furman is #71 and has won their last two conference series against GSU and UNCG, so still a tough stretch to come on this road trip.
Go Phoenix!
