This is a big weekend with a couple games against top competition in Kentucky, who is ranked top 10, and Coastal, who is not ranked but always solid. Also a game against Kansas State as well, who I don't think is good, but is still a Big12 team.
The first game scheduled for 11 is in a rain delay and probably will not start until after 3pm now, so will have to see how the adjust the rest of the weekend schedule off of that as it was supposed to be a double header today.

K-State's been in the Regionals 3 of the last 4 years. They also lost to Coastal and then beat Kentucky yesterday.

I think I had just seen where they were picked towards the bottom of their conference this year, so wasn't sure how good they were - certainly a solid enough team still it seems.

Lost to Kentucky but swept a double header today against K-State and Coastal. Kinsella homered in all 3 games and starting pitching was solid across all 3 games - even in the loss to UK it was basically one big inning they had.

Let's hope things are starting to gel! Agreed, two big wins yesterday. Still a little worried about some of the big innings the relief pitching has given up...BC, Coastal and NC A&T. After the rough weekend last week, 4-3 is not a bad place to be though. Conference play starts next weekend. Hoping to catch a game. Go Phoenix! |
