copied from QB thread This move could be more about our WR situation, rather than our QB situation. Again, here are some numbers. There are 16 WR on the roster of which 5 are true freshman. One would hope, in a balanced recruiting plan that these 5 or atleast most of them would be redshirted. That leaves 11. Of the remaining, 1 RSF, 7soph., 2 Jr., 1 Sr. Again very poor recruiting balance. Where's the experience??? Where's the depth In 2010 there were 6 Frosh at the WR position on the roster. There is only 1 left as a current Sr. Very puzzling, don't you think?I feel Vassy is more valuable at WR than QB with the apparent, possible weakness in our receiving corp. You can't expect much with only three upper classmen. The bigger question is, what's going on with player retention and the achievment of balanced recruiting classes? a lot of our formations call for a 2 wide out (X) & (Z) with 2 in a slot position plus the Tight End. so We have a lot of potential combinations. Previous personnel gave us Tall wide-outs and smurfs in the slots. Moving slot guys to the (X) can give us a running/blocking advantage on our runnning game even moving another TE in the slot, if our OL can hold their own and give our QB some time to make quick throws to set up (X) We will be in good shape. Rorie can catch it, so can Kierre Brown, Sellars can if he can get open. Davis is a weapon from the slot. Any more nominations?

Whonellie how do you see our running/passing split this year. I know they want to be balanced. I think We can run the ball if We really commit to it. Or at least make folks respect our ability to run it. As well as defenses fear the deep threat. versatility is a key to our type of offense. We have 4 backs and a couple of game breakers. The OL has to do a lot. I hope We have the depth to really rotate some guys up front and find out who can play. We do not need "stars" We need team guys that can learn and learn to win together. Just a wish and hope they do!
