Well, a thread has not been started, so here we go. #12 CCU comes to town for family weekend. Coastal is putting up some points and yards this season, and are playing extremely well. The SoCon needs a little redemption against the BS, after losing numerous games to that conference this season. CCU also looks like they may be missing their top WR. Elon will need to open the game strong. I don't think I've published a prediction since Elon's win at top 25 Furman, Swepson's first year. I have a good feeling that Elon will pull out a SLIM win......If they don't, I'll eat a big ole crow. If you get a chance, head over to the CCU message board. Those guys have some good fun with animated GIFs, and always have some entertaining threads. Here's the link for this week's game on their board: www.coastalfans.com/forum/index.php?topic=57076.0

I think our offense has the capability of putting up some big numbers against Coastal, depending on whether the play calling shackles them in the early going. I just don't think our D will be capable of stopping their O enough to win. 42-27 CCU.

Feeling the need to vent a bit re: fumbling article. Swepson's comments disappoint me. If we had recruited a scholarship kicker, maybe we would not be in such bad shape with the field goal kicking situation. And Coppedge has been our most reliable runners, at least in most of the game I've seen the past couple of years. Yeah, nobody likes a fumble...but I've seen a number of top rated NFL players fumble, and in dry conditions. I disapprove of calling out an individual player and benching him because of a mistake. Swepson just went down a few more points in my book.

I'm Randy, the owner/administrator of CoastalFans. Y'all are welcome to come over to our site and talk about the game with us! I have to say, our team is firing on all cylinders this year (we're the first team in Big South history to score 50 points or more in back-to-back non-conference games). Still, should be a fun one. GO CHANTS!

Wow PhoenixFC. I am with you, good grief he dogged Coppedge in that interview. What a confidence killer that would be. Good freaking grief.

in coaches letter: H Coach pretty much threw the young freshman kicker under the bus! freshman kickers and throwing him to the wolves and then giving up on him.... always good to have a strong kicking game

He's pretty good at throwing his players under the bus. Coppage, the frosh kicker, nobody knows how to win... He needs a course in stfu, IMHO. Excuses, blame, arrogance... How about suck it up, put on the big girl panties and do some coaching. I still can't believe he berated his best RB publicly in the local newspaper.

Just curious what your guys thoughts are on our team after seeing them live. Your offense is the real deal. Tallifero is exceptional. Every time he touched the ball he gained a minimum of 4-5 yards. Your D will need a little shoring up. They played better in the 2nd half but they were aided by our QB who for some reason couldn't hit the broad side,of a barn, and our receivers put on iron gloves. Overall a great team, deserving of the ranking.

Well, I like my crow fired and crispy. After the first half, I thought I was on to something with the prediction. But, in the end I was pretty far off.
Man that was a horrible second half. CCU made some drastic adjustments during the half to throw off the offense. Our offense was moving the ball extremely well in the first, and only managed something like 60 yards in the second half?? No adjustments were apparently made to our defense, and they flat out looked atrocious. Our coaching has to change.
To CCU's credit, your team looked good, really good. Judging by the adjustments made at the half, your coaching looks to be exceptional. You'll make some noise come playoff time.
