Another rough series this weekend. They got off to a promising start Friday after they battled back.
They need to win one or two in Greenville or they could be playing on Tuesday in Charleston.
UNCG finishes with Wofford and The Citadel and App has GSU and Furman.

Wow, really inexcusable loss. Everything on the line SoCon tourney wise and can't finish. That was making me have flashbacks of UNCW in the Cary regional. Honestly the team shouldn't have been in this spot if they had not went 1-7 in the previous 8 conf games, but you absolutely have to be able to finish games.
I'm not even sure what the scenarios are now to avoid Tuesday, but it's not worth booking travel for a potential one and done.
Really disappointing to see the team tank at the end of the year.

Now that the rest of the weekend games have wrapped, I believe whether Elon has to play on Tuesday hinges on the Samford/Wofford series. Need Samford to take at least 2 of 3 at Wofford. Samford is playing for 3rd seed against GSU.
The winner of the App/Furman series will move past Elon as well.
Sixth is the best the team can do and no worse than seventh. Correct me if I'm wrong.

That looks right to me. Will be rooting for Samford this weekend to avoid that play in game scenario.

Wow! We finished below .500 in the conference. I don't recall us ever finishing below .500 in the SoCon. I hope I am wrong but I just don't see us doing well in the conference tournament.
Hopefully the team turns things around next year. It has been a disappointing season for Elon baseball.

We have never finished below a 4 seed. Team fell apart. Hopefully we can find ourselves and make a run in the tourney

Whoever finishes in that 7th spot is going to be up against the 8 ball. You'll get the 10 seed on their home field and the Citadel winning on Tuesday guarantees two more days of locals showing up to the tourney. Just my conspiracy theory, but I'd be willing to bet the Citadel gets every chance in the world to advance to Wednesday.
Hopefully the baseball gods change course this weekend and keep Elon at 6th. We'll see.

Well the gods could still place us into 5th. Theres a large rain storm coming in Thursday and scattered showers on sat. If for some reason one or two games get scrubbed in Boone we could luck out.

Those 3 teams have already lost one game this season. If APP and Furman Split and loose the Third game to rain, then we end the season with a .444 average and app/furman .440 Best we can do is pray for rain

We'll worst case scenario played itself out - Wofford sweeps a double header today to sneak into 6th place. Elon will open up against El Cid in their place in Charleston on Tuesday in a play in game.

Looking at the box scores from yesterday it appears Samford laid down for Wofford. The game 3 lineup for Samford was pretty much their B team. As a result Samford gets Wofford again on Wednesday instead of Elon. Can't blame them; that's what happens when you leave your fate in the hands of another team.
Hopefully Elon comes out with a chip on their shoulder on Tuesday. The one positive is if they do win on Tuesday, I think the bracket is very favorable from Wed on. Davidson and then Samford/Wofford vs. WCU/GSU/ASU.
I just hope they don't end up having to beat the Citadel AND the SoCon on Tuesday. Need Bakker to pitch like he did early in the year and jump on them early and leave no doubt.
