Pardon me if this turns into a rant.
It makes no sense to me to have ASN (a network in concept only) produce and broadcast the CAA games, in many cases only in a couple markets. If ASN is going through the cost and trouble to produce these events, at least make them available online. Heck, give the participating schools the rights to simulcast them on their websites. The cost for this is minimal and the potential additional audience would be substantial, I would think.
Please, CAA, arrange this for next year.
And Elon, if you're going to do a broadcast/webcast of a game, and you have one of the top Communications schools in the country, could you put a little more effort into creating a watchable product?
Thanks.

The schools can produce their own web stream for ASN games if they choose. Many, like Elon, don't have the space for both a TV crew and then the web stream crew in the press box so don't do a stream. The Towson game wasn't originally part of the conference package, but Towson approached ASN about doing a few more of their games and paid for a broadcast. It was limited to fewer areas than normal due to that. Some games that are on in the Richmond market (where the conference office is located) are simulcast from that station through the CAA offices. If it's not on there - IE Charlotte or Coastal - then they can't add it to the CAA.TV stream.

Are you saying CAA.tv has the ASN productions?

They may have the ASN telecasts. It depends on if it is televised in the Richmond market.

Seems silly to have online games determined by whether they are shown in one market. I think the CAA or member schools should be allowed to web-simulcast every ASN game.

In a perfect world, I see no reason they shouldn't be able to use the ASN feed to simulcast. The network gets the benefit of exposure with no additional cost and the college gets the benefit of not having to duplicate the effort. But that's a perfect world. Although, in MY perfect world every Elon game in every Elon sport would be broadcast on CBS, NBC, ABC or FOX. No, I haven't been smoking anything...

They can. You have to have special equipment to make it work however.
