Wasn't sure which thread to post this in but due to the traffic of viewers that the football thread gets, I figured this would be the best place to post it.
Look over the four fall team that are active right now, here are their current records in conference:
Football: 0-6 with two games to go Men's Soccer: 4-2-2 Women's Soccer: 1-8 Volleyball: 1-13 with two games to go
Overall Elon's CAA record in these sports is sitting at 6-29-2 out of 37 games. There is a chance to add a few more victories to the win column, but also there is the possibility that a few more will be added to the lost column.
We all knew that the CAA was going to be a tougher conference, but did everyone think that all the teams would do this bad?
Thoughts, comments, opinions?

Volleyball is the surprising one. They've been around .500 both conference and overall the past few years. If you would make this year's ball team 7-7, you'd have a significantly different picture.
That said, football next year will be improved (my prognostication). Not sure of the others.
Yes, it's a significant step up. Hope the winter and spring sports have taken notice.

This is purely my opinion. Everyone is entitled to their own and I'm not trying to force mine on anyone else. So here goes: Yes, I expected it to be bad. I knew early on that Men's soccer would be the only team that would compete favorably. XC was a bonus. Did I expect it to be this bad, no. But bluntly, I really don't give a crap what happens record wise this year. I'm confident that our coaches in FB, MBB, WBB, BB, SB, M & W Soccer, M & W Tennis, Volleyball and XC are highly competent. With a couple of years of strong recruiting we'll be in the thick of the CAA just as we were in the SoCon. Everybody pi$$ed & moaned when we went D1 and when we went into the SoCon from the Big South. We survived and thrived after every change and we will this one too. We didn't fit in the SoCon We fit in the CAA. Everything will work out.

I agree with fightinchristian...I expected this year to be a struggle, esp. in football,...but, I've seen a football team play 4 quarters instead of just first half, and I've been told by a couple of freshmen basketball players that being in CAA was a deciding factor for them in coming to Elon. So, in my opinion, this was a good move for us, when we are thinking about the future of Elon University athletics. Seasons are hard to predict at any level - I am far more surprised how bad the Carolina Panthers are doing than I am at our records this year.

Just wanted to revisit this thread since it was discussed back during the middle of the fall team sport's season.
As of right now, here is what I could compile based on CAA records up to this point:
FB (0-8) VB (1-15) MSOC (4-2-2) WSOC (1-8)
MBB (3-11) WBB (7-6)
Total CAA W-L: (16-50-2)
Honestly, I am really surprised that over halfway through our first season in the CAA women's basketball has the most wins out of any other sport. I say that with no disrespect to WBB. I figured based on how MBB was playing early in the season out of conference, that their record would almost be the opposite (11-3, or at least 7-7 or better, not 3-11). They played a lot of bigger schools close before CAA action.
I am sure that given the number of gams that baseball, softball and women's lacrosse play, pus both men and women's tennis, this overall record will improve.
Obviously I did not include cross country due to meets and not single games. On a positive note women's finished 2nd while t he men finished 3rd at the CAA Championships.
Other's thoughts on the current all around CAA records of our sports so far in our first season of CAA action?

Women's Lacrosse defines us. They did score more points in their first game in Rhodes than the football team did in any home game this year. Go Phoenix!

Funny guy It's not like all of our teams have been in the crapper though. Women's basketball has fared well, as has women's golf, CC (had CAA Men's POTY), Men's Soccer, Lacrosse is off to a good start and baseball is off to a decent start. Granted, these aren't the traditional "revenue" sports, but there are positives.

Updating now that winter sports conference play is over. MBB added 3 more conference victories to the list, while WBB added 4 more conference victories to their resumes. It seems that both basketballs finished a bit stronger especially WBB, by the way congrats and best of luck in the WNIT.
Softball seems to have jumped out to a good start this year, hopefully that moment will continue into the CAA. Baseball has had a bit of a rocky start, but they always seem to get things going come conference play.
FB (0-8) VB (1-15) MSOC (4-2-2) WSOC (1-8)
MBB (6-12) WBB (11-7)
Total CAA W-L: (23-52-2)

Now that the first year of CAA conference it finished for all sports, I just wanted to update the numbers.
BASEBALL 13-11 Men's Basketball 6-12 Football 0-8 Men's Soccer 4-2-2 Women's Basketball 11-7 Women's Lacrosse 1-5 Women's Soccer 1-8 Softball 11-10 Volleyball 1-15
Overall CAA conference recors 48-78-2 which comes out to roughly about 37% of wins in the conference this year.
