Has anyone heard Skrosky's perspective on his first season? It would be interesting to get his thoughts going forward, as well. Anyone see or hear anything?

Great idea. I think I will. But then I wouldn't share it here. I was wondering if there was a public expression somewhere.

I guess the biggest issues with Elon Athletics are How can the culture change to make Elon relevant in FCS D-1 I know there is a huge disconnect all the way around. However I would like to first list all the positives. Well rather I would like to have some imput on what is good and working with-in and outside the Elon Bubble. #1 ?

No culture change needed. Win and people will show up. Problem solved. We just saw it happen with Lembo.
Go Phoenix!

I disagree Lembo was still winning and He did a remarkable job getting that winning streak in'10 and the fans stopped coming & I saw it on his face like Red Wilson did in '75 play-off game when the crowd was sparse. I hate to call people out but really what We have on the roster now in football is NOT worth a hoot in Hades.
Our main positive is that We have great facilities. Our Campus is a jewel. Next is our current Administration is and has made a commitment to our Athletics.

Lol, this thread has nothing to do with positives. If you want to list positives, list them. I was just correcting you on your association of Elon culture with a bad on field product and no one showing up to see it. Completely unrelated.
Go Phoenix!

Now you telling me that a totally turned off fan base is based on an unrealistic 9-10 win season to even get some type of revitalized support is the root of the scenario and you disregard this to if We win they will show. No wonder there is no one except parents & family of the the kid who picks up the "T" post kick-offs..... I am looking for solutions I feel for the Game Day and SID's and IMG folks for putting out great themes and also the Phoenix Club for opening the Letterman's Lounge and getting sideline passes for those who want them. 3-21 is an awfully sobering Stat to build upon but it is what it is.... but that does not bother you? It is a total disconnect between ALL parties...

Stop looking past the problem and trying to create a circus sideshow experience to make people show up. I don't go watch bad movies because the seats are comfortable and the popcorn is good. It's a complete package and all those other things are great, but it is a football game after all.
With that said I have season tickets and am always there despite (even was at a few road games), but I'm not going to blame people for not showing up when it's just not good football. It'll get better and I still have faith in Skrosky to right the ship, but don't deflect on "Elon culture" when that has nothing to do with it.
You don't seem to be concerned about attendance for other sports. Get all in or quit complaining.
Go Phoenix!

I keep going because I expect the new director to do something compelling... And I claim partial ownership in the production house. However, like it or not, most people aren't me, (us). Most if not all of the Elon posters on this board have a sense of loyalty toward our sports programs. The reality is that the vast number of Elon "fans" are seeking good entertainment from their teams. Nothing more. I think Blank & Co. have put together some pretty good tailgating incentives over the past couple of seasons. But that is nothing more than comfortable seats and good popcorn.

It's all part of the experience. Tailgating, concessions, cheerleading, band, contests, everything. But nothing impacts attendance like victories. Nothing.
I do think the athletes themselves need to become a more prominent force on campus. If a handful of players captivate the community with their personalities, etc., that goes a long way to making people care. In other words, make them celebrities. (Trust me, I hate the celebrity culture, but it's what we have...)

I'll check back in on signing day I hope our players do become better, We have the facilities and the school has the message that the fan-base wants wins... Let's all go to the new all-faith center light a candle and chant for a play-off caliber seasons in the near future.
