The head coach of the Elon Phoenix football team Rick Skrosky has asked WR Andrea "Juice" Davis and WR Ricky Brown not return for the 2015 season. Both players have another year of eligibility left. I'm sure there are more players being told the same thing. It's a shame that these kids’ college careers have to end this way.

Andre Davis is a surprise. Others, not so much.

Will these guys be graduating this spring? Surprising to me since I think all were in the two-deep and contributed.

LB/ DE Dawson IV just got his degree but WILL be coming back for his last year of eligibility
I know Ricky Brown was listed as a departing Sr on Senior Day... Robt. Davis did have some success in finally getting on the field w/ TFL and a couple of sacks

I think a few of the incoming freshmen will be on campus in January. Also, I wouldn't rule out a juco or two.

I counted 24 missing from the roster from August. Ten were seniors. I suspect a couple more are graduating early. Most of the non-seniors not on the roster were former walk-ons. One name I noticed missing was Mullis, a two-star DL from last year's recruiting class. All in all, it does not seem the losses were especially high in number nor did they involve significant players not already mentioned in this thread.

One also has to factor in injuries mostly season or career ending injuries 16 Seniors listed some 4 & 5 year guys 23 Juniors I think this was at one time 40 as We had a lot of walk-ons 17 Sophmores think 6 true Freshmen or as EU likes to say First year students 9 Red-Shirted First Year will add to the new signees I am sure the coaching staff is saying "All We want for Christmas is a game breaker"

I heard it's looking like Loughery is not returning after Christmas break. (This is unconfirmed, but sources are pretty sure.) He certainly heard the message that he's not #1, and I guess he's exploring transferring.
I think this is a mistake by the staff. Even if he's not projected as a starter, he's at least a strong backup. Now, every QB on the roster will be a freshman. I don't like it.

I feel bad for all these guys from a personal standpoint. You work hard in high school, choose the college you think is the best fit, then they tell you to scram. It's brutal. The reality is that Coach has got to do what he thinks best for the program. If a coach doesn't perform in an appropriate manner over a reasonable time, he too will be asked to leave. I sincerely like Loughery & felt his personality suited the team better as a leader than Quinn. However, I'm going to trust Skrosky until I can't anymore. How long is that? Well, certainly as long as we gave Swepson. Given the conference change, what Swepson did to the program, and simply a coaching change, he's got at least another two years to show overall program improvement in my book. If the team shows progressive improvement over the next two years, I'd give him another 3 years easy. I'm not looking at making the playoffs as being essential to his keeping the job over the next three seasons, just sustained improvement. I feel that Skrosky needs to be like Cutcliffe at Duke. Cut started in 2008, but didn't get Duke to a bowl game until 2012; his fifth season. I'd be happy if we didn't get back to the playoffs until 2018, as long as we see continued improvement.
Now having said all that, I have to trust there is a contingency plan at QB. My gut has told me all along that Christiansen was the heir apparent to the starting position. I don't really question his talent. I'm just afraid, given his record, that he has the potential for injury at this level. Our OL and his feet are going to have a tough job cut out for them in 2015. Also, I haven't heard anything, but there may be a big time transfer or recruit QB that will be expected to fill a role next year. We'll know about that in just a little over a month.

If Loughery could not beat out Quinn, that's saying something about his ability.

I probably need to clarify that the coaching staff did NOT ask Loughery to leave. If he transfers, that's his decision. I personally hope he stays.

I probably need to clarify that the coaching staff did NOT ask Loughery to leave. If he transfers, that's his decision. I personally hope he stays. We have had a pretty long history of back-up QB's that got very little PT. At his (Loughery) stage only 2 years of eligibility He does NOT have a great resume' so who would want him? He is on Scholarship so He sucks it up and graduates and hopes He can contribute. A change in position is not likely but I think He could be serviceable although He lacks something namely speed which kept him on the sidelines. The development of our receivers and our passing game needs total transfusion. We need (and you will this from Me a lot) We need break away threats and big play players. A Stud RB would Be nice. We lost our running game by committee last summer. I hope We can attract some transfers that can contribute to our program. Our current roster needs guys growing up with thicker skins and chips on their shoulders. Whiners are being culled out of the program.
