I'll give my two cents. Rich is the OC. It was always going to be either Skrosky or Bateman for the job. After the Swepson debacle, Blank was going to go to The Lembo tree. He had to. We will get better. However, we do need to tweak our offense a little. If you are going to run the spread. Run it with a fast tempo and run the QB. Hopefully, we will see this more with CC or DT. The spread is no longer a novelty.
I think Rich will do a good job. However, we need to be patient.

Here's the test. Compare this offense now to what we will see at the end of the season. With this much youth, you simply have to expect difficulties. As they get their act together, you'll see a dynamic offense. Assuming the receivers hold onto the ball.

I agree with fc4life. I think Skrosky is the guy, but the rebuild after the previous will obviously take more time than most of us would like.
I do like the enthusiasm I'm seeing with the players in interviews.

I think that most of the running backs are scared of getting hit and hesitate going into the line. Bennett I believe was slightly injured in the 4th quarter. Everyone else, with the exception of Gentry was dancing around in the backfield waiting to be tackled. Gentry went straight into the line and at least got to the line and beyond in limited carries. As for him being a non-scholarship player, WHO CARES>>>>>

As for him being a non-scholarship player, WHO CARES>>>>> That's exactly what I was thinking. Our RBs do way too much dancing around. Bennett runs too upright and tries to avoid contact. As big, strong and fast as he is - he should be lowering his shoulder and trying to run over people rather than trying to finesse things and cutting back looking for holes. Coppedge should be used situationally for change of pace/jet sweeps. Haven't seen Summers yet but have heard good things. Also haven't seen Gentry yet this year but I do recall seeing him in spring game freshman year - he hits the hole running hard. I say give Summers/Gentry combo a try - if nothing else it may finally get Bennett to work harder and realize his potential!

If all the complaints on offense at true and Skrosky is OC, does that not bother you guys? It's a process, we are very young and inexperienced on offense. I don't intend this next statement to be a disparaging remark on our junior and senior offensive players because they are loyal and are truly the cream of the Swepson signing classes, But Swepson was inept and destroyed what was built up to that point. Elon was turning into a FCS destination, Swepson burried it. Skrosky represents quite possibly the best part of the best coaching staff of the best period we've had as a D1 football program. He was the OC during two of the best seasons we've had as a D1 program. He took a horrible offense of a perennial bottom dwelling team in one of the two worst FBS conferences to two bowl games, and was bowl eligible all three years he was there as OC. What was the difference between Ball State and us? Talent and experience. Skrosky effectively has had one recruiting class. The first was thrown together. Even so, it wasn't horrible. I am impressed with the last class. I think we have a couple of potential all conference OL, and maybe All Americans by the time they graduate. They're good now, but think of what they'll be with experience. I also think that Skrosky will continue to garner better and better recruiting classes. Does Skrosky calling plays bother me? FU(K NO! Urban Myer wouldn't have done better with what we had available. Not only that, Coach Skrosky, with the success he's had in the past, had the balls to take over this dumpster fire, knowing his record wouldn't be great, especially with our moving to one of the two top conferences in the country. He's building a program. This is how it's done. Coaching responsibilities will change as time goes on. So unless this is still a dumpster fire in the next four years, I'm happy to entrust the head coaching responsibilities, along with the delegation to Skrosky.
