Lots of griping and moaning in the JMU thread, so let's start anew.
Let's say that you wake up tomorrow morning and you're somehow the head coach. Time for decisions. Let's limit this discussion to offense since no one seems to have a gripe with the defense.
1) What is your starting lineup? Feel free to back up your choices.
2) Specifically what changes do you make schematically to the way the offense is run?
Have at it.

I knew it was too good to be true before you started trying to push your CC agenda. But for the sake this thread you started, who is your starting lineup? Please feel free to back up your choices. And what changes are you making schematically?

I'm starting to think you're psychotic and paranoid, Simpson. Show me where I expressed a CC agenda. You can't because it is lot there. It seems perhaps you are the one with the clear agenda.
If you would pay attention to the JMU thread, you'll see a ton of pissing and moaning about the coaching, particularly regarding the offense. So, I merely allowed people the space to show what they would do differently. And, as you can tell, not many of these grippers have.
So cut the crap.
Perhaps the 8 interceptions are getting under your skin.

Look man, if you can't handle someone calling out your manipulative tactics so that they will agree with your posts that CC should be the quarterback, then don't post. IMO you are the only one with the clear agenda, case in point you have brought up the 8 interceptions as your defense on numerous posts. As I made it very clear on a previous posts, I don't care who starts as long as it is the one who gives Elon the best chance to win. And as I stated previously, and another poster said something similar, DT throws a better intermediate to deep ball and stays in the pocket to allow the play to develop where as CC tucks and runs as soon as he feels pressure, another poster said he looks scared in the pocket, I am not going there with it but at this time DT is a better fit for this offense, IMO. Ok, the 8 interceptions, not acceptable, but that is coachable with experience playing the position and in the film room. Actually, I would tend to agree with a previous poster about acquiring a qb transfer for next season, it has worked out pretty good for JMU. And I would agree with another poster that DT and CC seem more like D2 caliber quarterbacks. And before you get upset about that comment, they both seem to be good kids just not D1 ready. IMO, which you asked for.

Just pointing out I wasn't the one who brought it up. You did. Nowhere did I mention CC or DT. You did. I never mentioned the QB spot. You did.
The 8 picks was a little jab at you in response to your clear attack. And I didn't call you names. I made a diagnosis. Psychosis for seeing things that aren't there. Paranoia for thinking someone is out to get someone.

It seems like you want another "pissing match". If I am correct, you started this thread to see who the other posters would start on offense, which includes the quarterback. So how about it, who would you start on offense and why? And before you try to flip it back to me QB - DT - better acumen for the offense, pocket presence and more accurate thrower especially intermediate and deep balls. RB - Summers or Gentry (plays hard) WR - Joyner, Mccray, and Lennon (not ready to give up on him) TE- Persell

Well, you'd be wrong.
And I'll offer my perspective later. I wouldn't want someone to think I'm driving some kind of agenda.

QB: CC (Don't think either have proved themselves ready to start yet, but turnovers don't even give your defense a chance. CC currently has less TOs, higher comp %, higher efficiency) RB: Bennett/Summers/Gentry by committee (None have seperated themselves, run by committee. I'd probably use Gentry in short yardage as he seems to hit the hole quicker than others) WR: McCray, Joyner, Lennon, Allison (McCray showed promise early, but they seem to have gone away from him. Not sure if that's by design or QB preference.) TE: Warrick, Duprey, Aarington, Pearsall OL: Honestly dont know enough about the backups to have an opinion as to whether theyd be better.

I dont care about others, but I would be starting CC. Not turning the ball over gives our defense time off the field. But then with DT, though he hands it to the other team, gives a better chance to not go 4 and out.
I still think I'd go CC.

I would go with the next qb in line. Tired of 3 and outs. Tired of turnovers. Neither one can get the job done.

I think both QBs can, in fact, get it done.
Still the changes to offensive personnel I would make would be minimal.
I would sit Tre. At least temporarily. Not sure what's happened there but production and effort seem way off from last year. I would get Pearsall into the mix. If he's healthy, get him in there.
As for QB, I would go with CC. Doesn't throw picks. More athletic. Was our leading rusher through 4 games or so. Stronger arm. Higher up side. Hasn't connected often in the deep passes, that's true. But it was there in the spring, so I'm assuming it can happen. Both CC and DT have had difficult personal items. DT with the brain fluid issue and CC with the murder of his family member. Not sure either of those is something you get over in a hurry, so that might be some of what ails both of them. (If coaches insist on going with DT, then stick with him to the end. The back and forth serves no one well.)
The big changes required, I believe, is in play calling and scheme. 80% of the running play is in zone reads. 50% of the passes are straight down the sidelines. Our guys haven't shown the ability to get to the corner and turn upfield. That essentially limits the offense to a 3 yard gain at best. Work the middle of the field. More slants when you want the quick stuff. If CC is in there, roll him out on pass plays. We saw him throw well against GW on the run, so why not implement that? Abandon the dedicated run game. Use the backs as outlet receivers more. Then maybe the running game will develop.

It seems funny that someone who stated on another post that they were done talking about the quarterbacks, only talks about who they would start at quarterback. I know you mentioned sitting Tre and getting Pearsall into the mix, but you didn't give your starting lineup like you asked when you started this thread. That is precisely why I said you are pushing your CC agenda. CC more athletic, I would agree. He doesn't throw picks, homer you could probably complete a bubble screen. Doesn't CC have 1 pick and 3 or 4 fumbles or mishandled snaps? Do you know that CC has only 8 completions for 10 yards or more? And DT has around 26. Stronger arm, no way. More accurate, no way. Again, before you push completion percentage, look at throws that are intermediate and deep balls. DT most likely has a better percentage in that range than CC. Higher upside, I don't agree. CC runs when he feels any pressure instead of stepping up in the pocket and looking downfield. DT clearly locks onto his primary receiver but that is coachable through film and experience. It will also be interesting to see which of us are more in line with the coaches starting line up. I am going to agree with Reality in reference to you thinking your Tom Landry. Do you understand that your running game is going to be ineffective if all you are throwing is bubble screens because your quarterback can't complete a pass downfield? To work the middle of the field you need your quarterback to stay in the pocket and complete a pass downfield. With your schematic "coaching" interpretation, do you realize that your are contradicting yourself on who should start at quarterback based on their strengths?

Good lord!! You beg and plead for me to give my perspective and then you rip me for giving it. I essentially listed a starting lineup by noting the changes I would make. Sounds clear to me.
Quit stalking me. Please.
If I were the ONLY one saying they preferred CC, you might have a point. Clearly, I'm not.
So quit pestering me. Please.

Noone begged and pleaded and I didn't rip you, only debated you. You noted the quarterback position, nothing else, which if you were being honest, all you wanted is for someone to side with you about CC. Elonnewbie did and fc97 was basically on the fence. For all we know, you might be friends with them. Look man I only comment on your post because it is obvious that you favor CC since about half of your post mention him in some way. I want the best for Elon and I just can't sit quiet why you try to manipulate conversation that pushes your agenda on CC starting. Will you still be following Elon after CC leaves or graduates? That answers the question if you are an Elon fan or just a CC fan. I may be the only one who pesters you but you have been called out by atleast 5 other people on this fanboard. Clearly I am not the only one that thinks you are wrong. With all of that said, I will stop pestering you as soon as you stop pushing your CC agenda. In other words, how about discussung the team and not in an underhanded way that gives credit to your favorite player.
