Watching our QB play is very frustrating. How about the two passes at the end of the first half? Fade pass to the corner and he throws a bullet which zips right past our WR instead of a nice easy pass dropping into the corner. Then the same thing to the right. It was like screaming a 2 iron past a green from 30 yards out when all you need is a lob wedge. I commented immediately to my wife and then sure enough 10 seconds later the tv guys said the same thing. The kid has no touch at all. Someone needs to coach the kid that being a good QB is not all about arm strength. Not sure if it's coaching or the kids lack of feel for how to throw the ball. Its his third year in the program he is not getting the job done. Time to give the next kid a chance. And then the next kid and so on. Armchair QBs. Gotta love 'em. I'd like you to go to the 1:32:00 mark and start watching. o4.stretchinternet.com:1935/ondemand//_definst_/mp4:elon/elon-294370-v.mp4/playlist.m3u8These are the plays you mentioned. On the fade, CC puts it into a place where only the receiver has a chance at it. Even Taylor makes that point quite clear. Then on the "bullet" pass, please note the position of the defender and the receiver. No other possible pass could have made it there in bounds. At some point, a receiver needs to make a play in a situation like this. Feel free to question the wisdom of going to two true freshmen in such a critical time. But stop the whining about him throwing the ball too hard for a receiver 20 yards away from him. These are D1 receivers and they should start playing like it. Is CC the end all be all? Of course not. But let's at least have rational criticism. And you are probably going to get your wish about the next guy getting his shot, although he had plenty of shots last year, too. I'm hearing the shoulder injury could be more severe than anyone anticipated.

Only positive note is its has always seemed that either QB could have one the starting job so it will not be a drastic drop between either.

Homer you are very arrogant in the way you put people down on this board. I watched a different broadcast than the one you referred to. It was NESN by I think ASN. I will look for a link tomorrow for it. The announcers on that broadcast had a very different take on those plays.
You can watch for a fade pass in any game on Sunday or Saturday and they are thrown the way I described.

They have guys that need to b played that are freshman. They also try to control practices by telling players what to do against whatever unit they are working on. That will not give ur team a good look and it also will not get ur players any better

the scoreboard revealed a lot more than any stat line... G-WU got yardage on first down which gave them options and kept drives alive. We did not. 2 turnovers by the D did give us 2 field goals I videoed the entrance and guys went through the motions running onto the field no fire in these guys bellies what will show up next week who knows just tired of a product that does not deliver, the Wideouts have to get after it catch the balls and make YAC

And I can show you 20 fade passes to the corner that don't connect each week in the NFL. Those were your examples of why this QB sucks. I'm merely pointing out you're wrong - at least on those plays. That's like saying DT sucks because he couldn't hit Demitrius in bounds (on the play shortly after the interception). Wrong. Wonderful pass. Receiver just couldn't get a foot in bounds.

The coaches are too negative and mean. Geez guys, grow a pair. This new generation of kid's are worthless in anything and expect constant praise.

Couple things...
* Most of you have no idea what you are talking about when it comes to the staff. They are good but somehow it did not show on Sat. They care. Trust me on that.
* This loss stings because it's a program that we should beat. We were dominated in the second half. Plain and simple.
* We all should expect progress in year three. On Sat. we did not see any. Which makes it tough.
* One of my concerns is at what level the administration, outside of the athletic department, really cares. Leo seems more concerned about social justice issues then the performance of our football team. There is a balance, I know.
* We have recruited two scholarship QB's in three classes. That's a big problem.
* If the offense does not improve this year, Rich needs to hire a full-time OC and change the offense. We need to run at a better tempo. If we don't have the athletes, we need to win with scheme. Something we are not doing.

This thread is starting to get out of hand. As a reminder there will be no personal insults. Its one thing do disagree with each other but lets not lash out. We all love Elon and want it so succeed. If we continue to throw around insults I will be forced to take action.

No, you guys made the Swepson comparison to the current staff and said how negative they were. The same thing was said when it was Lembo vs Hamilton and Seagraves.
I have had I don't know how many interns work for me over the past few years and say similar things about coworkers and managers. There are expectations and you have to be able to take criticism. And you're expected to work on things, get better or get the boot. This is how the real business work works.
Call it lashing out if you want, but complaining about that staff in this manner sounds like crying. The people complaining about this need to go cry quietly in a corner.

It's a touch pass which takes a lot of feel and timing. IMO the problem here is they are trying to run Scott Riddle plays, Just one problem... No Scott Riddle. We need to understand our QB weaknesses and give them something they can do. We simply do not have the talent to make pin point, touch passes.

We've played one game this season, there's plenty more left to go and we will be able to see this team for what it really is. I think it is pointless to jump to conclusions after one diappointing game.
